I dont think it was an SEC alone rule, it came from the NCAA for each conference to enforce I believe

And it's not a ban, it's an fine which increases with each occurrence

Apparently some of these geniuses were jumping 10+ feet onto concrete. What the hell did they think was going to happen?

Colorado rushes the field like it was an art form since they don't win much these days. Always seems in good fun. I've done it a few times without adverse effects.

Because someone in your family will likely attempt to sue the university because of your stupidity, and universities don't like writing checks to families of dead idiots.

Doesn't make it any less stupid. We live in a stupid world, where if you don't protect people from themselves you can be sued.

It makes perfect sense if you take the perspective of the school instead of an idiot fan who gets trampled rushing the field.
