Anyone going to watch the opener this weekend? Justin, I am counting on ya man. Give us middle TN folk a good report on it. I think this guy will be a great attribute to UT athletics. Good luck Coach Raleigh!

Raleigh won his first game today.

He said he got jittery about an hour before the game. Then once it started, he felt fine.

Tennessee made some errors, 3 freshmen in the outfield will do that. Both Liles and Polk dropped two easy flyballs. Raleigh just laughed them off and blamed them on "freshmen being a little tight."

Kentrail Davis and Josh Liles were the best hitters today and they're both freshmen.

He was disappointed that two of the walks scored. Also disappointed that all 4 of Moorehead's runs came with two outs.

He said they're still undefeated and he's glad to win his first game.

After the game, he had all his players gather around the first baseline and sing Rocky Top and salute the fans (it was miserable, about 45 and misting)

Good stuff Justin, if you don't mind could you keep me informed throughout the season. Don't get the oppurtunity to go up there and watch any baseball games, will go when they come to Vandy though.

No problem. Every game I cover, I'll make sure to have some good quotes to post.

The games I don't cover, well I'll still give a game review.

Mike Hamilton's presser on Raleigh:

"I am excited that Todd Raleigh is joining our staff at the University of Tennessee," Hamilton said. "We were fortunate to have an extremely talented and successful field of candidates. Todd's passion for the game, his plan to rejuvenate Volunteers baseball and his history of disciplined teams and physical brand of baseball stood out among the field. "He and his wife, Stephanie, will be a great addition to our team as we work our way back to Omaha in pursuit of a national championship." or he will run our program into the ground for several years
