Way to pass the buck there Dooley. The reason the qb did not play well is called game preparation. Noticed you left out "The head coach did not coach very well".

I agree with that, to an extent. But when the qb has already confessed that he won't watch bad halves during the film sessions (he said he wasn't going to watch the second half of the Florida game), it makes you wonder how much he does study. And come gameday, the teaching is done. It is up to the player(s) to execute.

did the quarterback call for the field goal unit on the three, down 44-10 late in the fourth quarter? if he did, its all on him.

Yes, throwing the ball to a wide open defender clearly isn't Bray's fault. I want Dooley gone as much as anyone but this is bogus.

It shouldn't be shocking anymore. We are in year three and the HC has never said that the loss was on him. Preparation has never been held accountable.

The over/under was 54.5. Dooley must have taken the over. That's the only thing I can figure about that move.

You talking about the play where the running back cut left and Bray threw to where he was? Actually, thats on the RB. Bray didn't play well, but the interceptions weren't awful

Someone please tell me the quote lacks context. That it wasn't as bad as the way it sounds in its
written form.
I hope he meant to say he doesn't know why his qyarterback didnt play well because he hadn't looked at the film or spoken with his OC or assustants.

If this was a blanket statement, this is the final nail in his coffin.

On the final note we know that Bray doesn't watch bad film and always look unprepared for big games, that being said all of that falls considerably on the coaches. Unless your name is Peyton Manning and you make it your lifestyle to watch film then the coaches need to be on top of you making sure you are getting enough time in the film room, which for a QB is almost just as important as the practice field.

My favorite post game Dooley quote: "they do that to everyone...."
Translation: it's okay that we just got our a$$ handed to us b/c that's what everyone expects.
Does Dooley ever take responsibility for anything?

No. The play where the wideout was running a deep post and the slot was running a hook. Bray threw it right to Mosley. There wasn't a UT player within 10 yards! I had originally given Bray the benefit of the doubt and thought his arm was hit or the ball deflected at the line. Upon further review, that was not the case. You can even see Bray looking at his hand wondering the same thing the rest of us were. "Where in the H@!! was that one going?!?!?"

No. That's what started getting to me last year. His press conference last night was a mixture of blame passing and general confusion about what to do.

I see nothing that gives me confidence with Dooley.

If this statement is true, then the head coach should have called him into his office, and said,"Son,you will do every(expletive)thing I tell you to do"!

That statement alone should get him fired.

I get why people are mad at Dooley. I get why people don't like him.

But I don't understand why saying the qb didn't play well and that bama had been whipping everybody they play pisses people off so much.

When you get your biggest rival at your house and come out and play the way they played, time to load the trucks up and get someone in here that wants to be here for the right reasons which include winning and being competitive.

I have no problem with Dooley making this comment. Bray can be pretty good at times, which is why it was noticeable that the passing game was awful last night. It would been nice if Dooley also said--"and I and the coaches take responsibility too, we didn't coach as well as we needed to." Too few coaches say that. I think Dooley is pretty candid after games--a lot more so than Fulmer.

Dooley says that all the time, but his comments about specific plays and players gets the pub. And many times, he is answering a specific question.

Spurrier went off on his team about not wanting the ball and giving it to the other team yesterday. Nothing wrong with it, as it is what happened. The under the bus deal is overplayed, and I guess people would rather have smoke blown than the truth.

If you watch the press conference it is how he starts and he never lets up. There is no acknowledgement that players weren't put in proper positions or that game planning wasn't correct or any number of things that a coach is responsible.

There's a thread with a link to the press conf. - take a look and see if you think Dooley is taking any responsibility for the team and if it appears he can articulate what happened, what should have happened and the coaching staff's role in that.

I'm talking about the bray and bama comments. If you want to be mad at him for not saying what you think he should, fine, but why turn that into being mad if he states the obvious when asked.
