You are just a miserable human being. I truly feel for you. I'm gonna dumb this down as much as I can for you. I never said he was the next Mayfield or our next starter. I'm just saying trust the Coach's and don't judge him based off what he did at Troy. Very few QB's were going to beat the future NFL QB Troy has had starting the last 4 years. I'm just saying if he comes in, he has just as much chance to start as anyone else. You just seem to think you're so much more knowledgeable than our Coach's. If that was true you wouldn't be on here trying to get VN QB Guru E-Cred, you would be out coaching and recruiting them. Maybe we should just sit back and enjoy watching the position battles, then let the Coach's decide. Then pull for and support the ones who win the job. He probably ends up at Ala and Chryst here, but who knows. Regardless we have very little experience at the QB position on our current roster and zero experience in a pro style offense. So saying one is better than anyone else is an opinion. What's not an opinion is there will be a QB battle that every player gets an equal opportunity to win the job. I'm choosing to enjoy the ride and believe we finally have the Coach's who get us back to TN Football. Every position will be earned and I have complete trust that there wont be favoritism deciding who starts. Unlike what we have seen the last 5+ years.

That's unclear right now, especially with them pursuing 2 Grad Transfers in Chryst and Gardner Minshew. Minshew would be a great pick up and instantly be the best QB on the roster based off stats and what's been done in college so far. He had incredible stats last year considering he was on a 3-9 E.Carolina team. 16 TD's 7 Int's 174/304 57.2% 2140 yards passing. Career 17 games he has a 58% passing completions (293/506) 3500 passing yards 24 TD's and 11 Ints's with a 127.1 Passer rating on a horrible E.Carol team. It's gonna come down to TN, Ala and AU. TN is the only one with a starting QB. He would immediately become the front runner with him and Shrout being the only 2 Pro Style QB's and 2 Spread QB's in JG and McBride. JG is very far from being a lick to start. And Keller Chryst is visiting this weekend. Either would be great pickups but give me the ECU guy.

Surely last year told us that JG is NOT a spread qb. If anything, he showed he’s a guy who wants to stand and stay in the pocket to a fault.

Color me skeptical about going the 1 year grad transfer route for a qb. Perhaps that’s where we’re headed, what JP believes is best and if so I’ll fall in line and trust him. But I’m just not sold, at all, that that’s the best course of action at this point. Guess we’ll see.

Considered it implied. But in all fairness, either of the guys or JG could be the answer. Resumes are similar. Minshew was going to be ECU's starter had he stayed. But then again Stanford probably had a better QB2 than ECU.

In all honesty it didn't show any of our QB's could play at a high level in any offense. But until I see them play under these Coach's I will just cough it up to horrible coaching and that's not just at QB. I honestly would like to know where they stand as far as the QB situation, and not what they tell the media. I can understand why they are lookin because right now they only have a little bit of tape. Even then it's tape of bad offensive play and in a different type offense. They will probably have a better idea after this spring. Who knows with JP making the comment about other attrition coming it could be McBride or who knows who else. They may not have a choice but to bring one in. Atleast right now we are in horrible shape at QB. Hopefully that changes with better coaching. My concern is what if JG looks horrible in the new offense, McBride transfers out for a better fit then that leaves us a FR QB that has started 1 yr in HS. I like Shrout future potential but hopefully he can RS. Not saying any of those things happen but it's not something that's not impossible either. He just about has no choice but to bring one in with what he's walked into. The previous staff didn't leave them in the best QB situation. Then again JG could ball out, McBride stays and JT wouldn't be forced into playing if he's not ready.But you know how our luck has been the last decade so it will probably be the latter.
