The price of failure for Phil Fulmer;

1) 6 million dollar bonus
2) The postion of the injured party (hoping people forget Majors)
3) A new job (at a time of layoffs) making 12k month as the president's buddy. (see #2)
4) The support of all his friends, media and coaches)
"Why are the fans gripping about a few losing seasons...he won a championship a mere 10 years ago.)
5) Talk of making a stature of Phil Fulmer. ( Does Pat Summitt have a statue?)

We need to learn from this. It does'nt matter if you win or lose, its WHO you know when you lose!

I agree that it is who you know and how far up those people's butts you want to run your nose.

This is a result of the fact that the UT AD has to cater to people living under every rock in the state of Tennessee. Fulmer is still very popular with those who think losing consistently can be made up for by forming a prayer circle and working like heck. They form a large group of fans who spend money on UT wife beater shirts and beer coozies. This is political correctness. Tennessee style. This is sarcasm. Maybe... Hiring Fulmer during a hiring freeze is BS if only because he is being paid after a 6 million dollar buyout. It is a political move to keep Fulmer fans happy.

What a classy way you phrase your point. Not sure what your meaning is. Seems to me that the lack of wins and perceived underacheiving on the field has ended up costing Coach Fulmer his job...no matter who he knew.

Exactly. Saying he is benefiting based on his connections is ridiculous - since those connections didn't save him from being effectively fired from his job.

Sorry but the meaning of it wasn't meant for you. Run along now.
