We HOPE it was a vanilla book. But even if we agree to that thought:
Our O line was porous,
Tackling was poor,
Special teams were below expectations,
Our running QB was sacked twice,
Our defense had zero sacks and 1 turnover.
Those things aren't due to vanilla playbook.
I agree with your assessment, all spot on, imo. However, UT's 18 completions (2 didn't count because of penalties) went for 9, 5, 12, 16, 0, 5, 4, 9 (Penalty), 6, 11, 7, 13, 14, 67 TD, 7 (Penalty), 3, 9, and 11 yards. The design of the passing game is predominately a ball control, short passing game. Unfortunately, we only complete 55-60% of these short passes, instead of 65-70 percent that an effective short passing game team does. It's not particularly fun to watch for me personally.
