The plan for QB

IMO, CJH needs a QB that 1) knows his system and can read defenses, 2) an arm and 3) Processing speed. Hooker was the perfect fit. His processing speed in game was off the charts. Saw plays before they occurred.
Ty may not be a good fit, with experience the 2nd string QB - Mack might be a better fit. But honestly I am banking on Brandon Fazion to come in and be the fit. Supporting cast will also play into the future. It will take time and experience at this level will be a must.

Anyone in the portal will have more experience than GMac and we really don’t know what GMac can do under pressure.

And possibly never will know what G-Mac can do under pressure.

With Joey A the emphasis was "he's new and needs reps in the offense" though granted missing Spring ball made that more plausible but we still rarely saw anyone else take a snap.

With another portal QB, even with Spring ball, he'll still be new and we have less cupcakes with 9 SEC games so "he's still learning and needs reps" may be the emphasis particularly if the portal guy is shaky in the offense. No one else may get many snaps except QB1 next year also.

So...... G-Mac is ready in 27? Brandon is ready? We may never know.

We are better with a true running QB or atleast someone like Hooker.

Dunno. SC and UF had that with Sellers and Lagway. How did that work out for them?

I think Milton got a fair number of snaps as a backup.

Navy Shuler got a few snaps when that was totally useless for "experience for the future" so I'm assuming the coach felt the future QB1 had enough reps in.

All teams who play tough schedules very seldom play their backup QB.

I think is we get a cheap backup who can "compete for the job" (yes I think they still exist) so we don't potentially have to throw Brandon in there as a true freshman. If what people say is true, that George didn't play (much) due to his size, I think he is the guy and one of the (many) reasons we dumped our S&C. I think we'll bring in a new S&C guy who'll add a solid 10lbs of muscle on George in the off-season and he'll be our starter.

We're spending our money mainly on defense and maybe a RB, WR, OL. That's what I think at least and probably not a bad way to go about it.

Why is it either or? If you can get the right QB, you just go to the donors to kick in...nothing should stop getting the best aths you can from the portal.

I mean Bama was one dimensional. Yes Gmac can run that's why it's important he put on size.

Mac is not physically there as of now. Maybe after another off season in the weight room.

Well it was said somewhere (can't remember where or details) that if we got some pieces in place on defense there supposedly is a donor who would be willing to pony up for a QB. First things first though I think is the plan.

I still think we should get Lagway if he's still available. He is a good fit for our offense scheme. Protect him and he can play a lot like Hooker.
