1. That's a frustrating loss. UCONN didn't play that well and UT had every chance to win.
2. The sequence at the end of the first half was a killer. The turnover and Walker's 3 really swung the momentum.
3. That was the best game Melvin Goins has had in some time. Tennessee needs that level of play from him going foward.
4. UCONN really won the game on the boards. After a big start, UT got handled on the glass.
5. Tobias Harris didn't have one of his better days. He's got to be more assertive offensively.
6. Roscoe Smith is going to be a really good player. He'll be all Big East before he's done in Storrs.
7. It's absolutely imperative Tennessee handle LSU at home. The postseason resume can't handle a loss that bad.
8. Cameron Tatum still looked a lttle lost out there. It's as if the game is just moving too fast for him.
9. Impressive win by Ohio State. You can go ahead and pencil them in as a one seed.
10. The Charlotte loss just keeps looking worse. Duquesne absolutely annihilated them today.

We need to learn how to control the damn ball. That's what I got from this game. This teams ball handling skills are atrocious.

He was not good offensively, but I thought he did a pretty good job defending when he had Walker. The stretch early in the 2nd half when we tried to check him with Bone was a disaster. It was a mistake to try it, and it was a mistake to leave it as long as we did.

JMHO.

I thought we saw the difference of Big East inside game finally make a difference.

Very frustrating game. Many opportunities to win.

2. This is why I kept stating over and over that unless you have literally nobody around you (maybe even within a ten-foot radius), you hold for the last shot. Always.
4. The rebounding effort on defense was embarrassing.
5. I got tired of the pointless three attempts instead of using his natural ability to drive the ball inside. It's amazing to me why he isn't more assertive with the ball.
7. It would take a bed****ting of monumentous proportions to drop that game, but you never know. We really need to win that by 30, though.
8. *insert "still high from New Year's 2010" joke here*

Good post again.

Scotty is arguably the worst ball handler on he team....well maybe second to Fields

The team must have been cold in Hartford they played as if their hands were frozen. No one could catch the ball.

We absolutely dominated Pittsburgh. Don't see how that could be the case with UCONN. We didn't play good D, we didn't box out and crash the glass. Just wasn't a good performance the last 30 minutes of that one.

Is it possible that Tatum is hurt?
I've been wondering the same thing. Hopson's inconsistency is maddening, but Tatum has gone from a serviceable option to looking like he's completely out of his league the past few games.

his defense was actually respectable today, as Cotton touched on. He is always going to be limited some due to those knees, but he looks plenty quick to me.

I don't think it's arguable at all. He is by far the worst. Also the softest. You even hint at making contact on him and he runs for the hills.

Hopson's insconsistency is maddening! Great play and then dribbles out of bounds. How many turnovers did he have just dribbling out of bounds - 3 or 4?

Tatum played pretty good defense but didn't finish a single drive.

McBee can't create his own shot and has a slow windup. He seems to also be a defensive liability. I wouldn't play him unless we were having trouble shooting like in the Vandy game. DOES NOT NEED TO BE ON THE FLOOR SAME TIME AS PEARL.

Fields hurt us today by dropping three easy passes inside that would have been buckets.

I should have said something positive too. I thought they played hard overall which will always give you a chance.

People say Tobias is one and done, and Scotty is sure to go this year. These guys are not playing ball llike near future NBAers.

Anytime you have BW.TH,SP,JB and Mcmiss at the same time ,nothing good will ever come out of it.You have 1 who is the only threat on the floor and thats Harris.
It blows my mind how BP continues to throw this crap out on the floor every game.
As far as Hopson goes,he doesnt want to put the ball on the floor because he cant and when you make him dribble he is useless.
One would think Pearl had to know after his freshmen year that somebody needed to work on his ball handling skills and never happened.
