The NCAA denied Jeremiah Masoli the right to play this year per ESPN's Joe Schad!!!

Well, I guess that will move Ole Miss' projected record from 8-4 to 6-6. I agree with the OP that the Ole Miss game just got a lot easier. Masoli would have been a handful.

AA's reasons seemed thin, Nutt will appeal of course but I don't think the gestaponcaa will overturn this.

I would think they will appeal, but I would also think it would be extremely hard to get it over turned before the season starts..

I live in North MS, all the Ole Miss fans are going nuts....I love it!!!!!!

All of the Ole Miss fans in the Memphis area are going nuts too. They're all saying it's a lost season.

They should feel fortunate that they still have enough talent to make it to a bowl without Masoli.

I'm glad to hear this. Not because it potentially helps the Vols chances against UM, but rather that entire situation stunk to high Heaven.

Good luck Nutt!

As I said in the other thread it doesn't matter if he played or not, we still win.

Masoli doesn't scare me and I don't get why people are (were) worried about him. He isn't a polished passer and he isn't Tim Tebow back there running it. He isn't built to run the ball against SEC caliber defenses and wouldn't a difference maker for Ole Miss regardless of he played or not.

Thanks, but I wasnt looking in the "around the NCAA" forum cause I wasnt just referring to Masoli not playing, I was also referring to our game against Ole Miss being easier for us to win.

you're fine. i probably jumped the gun a little bit. for some reason i was thinking that the other masoli thread was in the main forum. my apologies.

If the Justin Hunter situation is any indication, it will be halfway through the season before the get an answer.

Just got confirmation today that Ole Miss is recruting both Nukeese and Edwards from Coffeyville Juco. Nukeese is playing mostly DB and some Receiver and Edwards isn't eligible because of tranfer rules from the 1AA he transfered there from. Also Arkie is recruiting them. Just an FYI...

+1, Masoli was a product of the Oregon system, just like Dennis Dixon was and just like their QB this year will be. He knew how to make some good reads, but their offense is alot like Auburn's offense. You read the DE to hand off or keep it, then on a playaction pass the play is usually a set play for one person meaning he doesn't have to read the defense. Throw if he is open, run if he isn't.
