honestly, i'm not surprised. i told my wife the other day, that this possibliity still existed given that the "new" contract still had a clause about the Michigan job.

oh boy, can you imagine what would happen in Baton Rouge if he takes it now? who would the tigers hate more? him ore saban?

The longer no word comes out of Michigan regarding a HC, the more it becomes obvious that Miles is still their man.

Football discussions on here aren't enough huh? You take it home to the wife too?

I have some good friends who are bigtime LSU fans and the feeling I get is that there are quite a few who wouldn't mind if Les left.

i'm lucky that way. she even asked a valid recruiting question the other day and was honestly interested in the answer. :eek:lol:

probably so. but even those would still have to feel a little scorned by the out right lie.

i don't think so. moreover, i don't think it's in our best interests to do so.

we all know the challenge of coaches coming in to replace an long time incumbant. esp one that has been successful, but not endeared.

i look at Mich and Ark right now and truth be known, that's what i see happening at TN when that time comes. that is unless we are willing to toss around some serious bank.

anyway, i don't want to buy in to what MH says about this job not being as attractive as many of us think it is, but i do recognize that if Mich can have two guys basically say "thanks but no thanks", the same can defintely happen to us, esp considering how similar our situations are/were with our HC's.

the old addage of "be careful what you wish for you might just get it", well in the case of Mich, and potentially us, it would be prudent to consider......what is it we are wishing for......that CPF just be gone, or that so and so becomes the HC? I think it's pretty apparent that Mich had NO plan B. I hope MH is paying attention to what is transpiring in Ann Arbor.
as it turns out, and i didn't see this prior to posting the above, Pat Forde has a good read on this very subject:

there's another good read by Feldman about what it takes to attract coaches as well.
