Hebrews 12:1¶Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

2Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Running with patience... Patience, I want it and want it now!! At least that's how I feel so many times.
So many weights and sins hinder our race. God calls for us to set those weights and sins aside. Just the slightest of weights can greatly affect a runners performance.

Shame we have to put the OP on ignore just to ignore a thread. We can share things like in this in several other threads here in the Zone that aren't dedicated to it and it's fine and appreciated.

When you dedicate a thread to that it opens up an opportunity for argument and attention whoring which I believe is why you're doing it. It seems to be more about you than anything else.

No need to respond because I've put you on ignore. Sorry.

Luke 18:10Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.

The trouble with the Pharisees is that they were religiously lost and full of pride refusing to repent. It's mostly the same with all who reject God.
It all boils down to They love their sin more than the Savior and refuse to repent. Jesus said," except ye repent you shall all likewise perish." It's a reoccurring theme all throughout the book of Luke and all the gospels for that matter.

Luke 23:33And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

Thanks to Calvary:
1- I'm not the man I used to be.
2- I don't have the same practices
3- I don't go to the same places
4- I'm living on new promises
5- I'm going to share in his( Jesus) possessions.
6- I have a new purpose in life.

Are you gracious in your speach to others? Are you careful with how you speak to people? Sadly I have failed in this department so many times. I can't do one thing about yesterday, and tomorrow may never come for me. But today, I can strive to get it right!

Now then, before we get too critical of others, perhaps we should consider careful the words here in the book of James.

James 3:1 ¶My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
2For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

I'm afraid that we have many people today looking for anything to be offended at. That's not good either.
Anyhow, just a little food for thought. Have a blessed day! Perhaps it's because they don't love the word of God enough?

Jesus is the only way of salvation! You can't go through Buddha or Allah or the Pope or Catholic Church or any other denomination or organization of people or religion. There isn't a Baptist way or Pentecostal or church of Christ way or even a Jewish way though our Lord is a Jew. Jesus said in John 14:6," I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh to the Father but by me."

It's the Bible way or hell, which will you choose?
