The Official What Other Message Boards Are Saying: South Carolina Edition

Kentucky the strategy is simple, stack the box and stop the run. They had 18 yards of passing against Vandy on 3 for 9 passing.

Now executing that strategy isn't easy but it is definitely doable...especially after KY plays Mizzou and Georgia.
They'll limp into Neyland. I'd say KY is a guaranteed win, as well as Charlotte. Gotta squeeze one more out. SC, Vandy, or both!

The biggest takeaway for me is that they consistently say we have been playing well. It seems other schools see we are a well coached team again, even if it's not always perfect. In 7 games Pruitt has established more respect for TN than Butch did in 5yrs. People were afraid of Dobbs and Barnett but there would always be a. "Butch Jones makes questionable calls or is a bad coach" type comments right after giving props to Dobbs or another player.

Just a positive sign

Completely agree. And no stupid comments directed toward Pruitt because thankfully he doesn’t say stupid crap like “champions of life” “five star hearts” “resiliency” etc etc

Pruitt doesnt make excuses, states where we are vs his expectations (#1) and says "we gonna get better and we gonna be commin for ya"

Of our SEC games left, this is very winnable but is definitely not a given like I hope/expect Vandy and Missouri to be. Meanwhile, KY is likely to be more than we can handle this year. If we can handle SCjr, we have a serious shot at going 7-5 reg season this year. A near miracle.

If they hadnt had a bye week and we just lost Trey, I would feel pretty confident actually.
If you think either Missouri or Vandy is “a given”, you’re about to be sorely disappointed. There are no “givens” left on our SEC schedule. At this point, I’m a little nervous about Charlotte.

Exactly. I’m 32 and I can’t recall a Tennessee coach being this straight forward in my lifetime. Don’t get me wrong, love Fulmer, but even he wasn’t as blunt as Pruitt. The three coaches that preceded Pruitt were built on dumb catchphrases. The whole “we’re gonna be good and if anyone doesn’t want to be good there’s the door” mentality is refreshing for both the fans and also the players as they seem to be responding well.

Clearly you aren't watching Vandy play against Arky right now. Mizzu may give us a challenge since their losses are against good teams as well (tho barely losing to cocks is not a good team per se). But I see our team growing by a LOT every week. Not sure everyone else had as much top end as we have, even with what Butch left. We will see but I think by the time we hit Mizzu in Nov, we will be rolling on all cylinders (or at least more so). Certainly for the team, its got to feel like they are going downhill now and that builds confidence.
