Rucker crying about the āslurā on Twitter with several tweets. I watched will Heflinās postgame show, he said āI donāt have a problem with it. Itās baseball, weāve all said some things. Trust Meā
I 100% agree with Heflin. Wonder if theyāll have a back and forth on pod about it.
Just the weak culture we have. You got players jumping around, flexing, screaming and generally acting a fool for making a play in any sport. The game was far saltier back in the day and it sure didn't have social media to take care of on the field issues. Players handled that themselves. Act a fool and you get ear holed or some high spikes. Same in football. Anyone who's played and been at the bottom of a pile knows what's happening. Just a different breed/culture these days. Off my soap box now. Back to screaming at clouds. You knew it was coming. Itās pretty ridiculous people read lips to get offended nowadays. Guess he forgot to cover his mouth before he spoke but I guarantee thereās folks that are offended by that too.
Didn't see him yelling it. Just saw one clip that showed him say it to a guy next to him in the dugout. Was there another showing the outburst and slur? Link? And their coach yelling F***ING F***** in front of the umpires warranted a big ol' nothing? Couple real high pitches on Clark warranted nothing?
Good riddance to Wake Borest. As much trash as people talk about our guys celebrating all the time at least we aren't pure garbage like that team seems to be.
Not only this, which is egregious, but there were several things that were just dead wrong from the umpires. That clock violation called on Liam just as the 9th was starting was terrible. The music was still playing and Doyle was waiting on that as the batter stepped into the box. The ump did the signal to start and Doyle was obviously confused, as was everyone else. That ump had re-started the clock probably 20 times before that play if there was interruption/confusion. He was definitely angered with the Vols and made a couple of poor decisions.
Not saying it is the right thing to say and probably has a lot to do with the recent frustration - especially with the few so-called fans, cursing at the Vol players at the Kentucky and Vandy series. CTV called them out at the game and told them if you donāt like it leave. Thatās been talked about plenty in other threads. He is a fiery - high energy coach and speaks his mind - no surprise. He's right but nothing good comes of saying **** like this to your fan base.. I wish he'd stop complaining about them every time someone puts a mic in his face even if I do agree with him on almost all points.
Totally agree. And those clouds had it comingJust the weak culture we have. You got players jumping around, flexing, screaming and generally acting a fool for making a play in any sport. A man his age should not be talking that way to a member of an opposing team. I wouldn't want our coaches talking that way to our own players. Leaders of men need to act like it by modeling sportmanship for both players and spectators.Oh no, a slur!?!? In the Year of Our Lord 2025?

Donāt get me wrong, I can cuss with the best of them. I can also be pretty vulgar. I have also said the same word in my youth. I do have several gay friends, who are cool but not down with that word. Out of respect for my friends Iāve removed that word from my repertoire like many other people nowadays. Iām also not saying doing such should warrant being cancelled. Still pretty gross of him to throw that word around in 2025. Just my .02.Rucker crying about the āslurā on Twitter with several tweets. Everything was better in the early 2000ās when your life wouldnāt be ruined for making an offhand joke or saying a word.Donāt get me wrong, I can cuss with the best of them. I donāt disagree with you. Just also not something youāll hear me go around saying, which says a lot considering what I will say. I tend to wince when I hear someone throw it around in public.Everything was better in the early 2000ās when your life wouldnāt be ruined for making an offhand joke or saying a word.
I get it. I said before I still say it pretty often around friends and on the PlayStation or whatever. Iām not trying to offend anyone, one of my closest friends in HS is gay.I donāt disagree with you. Also Tom Walters is not a 12 year old playing call of duty with his friends. He is a grown ass man in a prominent position coaching in a nationally televised sporting events. What you say in private with close friends is not necessarily what you would want to say with a big audience. Always been that way.I get it. A comedian once said everyone is a product of their time, and he was a product of the 90ās so heāll never let go of āretardā and that particular f word.
I agree lol
I would agree if he didnāt just say it to his assistant standing beside him quietly and happened to have the broadcast camera on him at that moment unfortunately. Also Tom Walters is not a 12 year old playing call of duty with his friends. That was a perfect bunt. Whether the third baseman or the pitcher got to it, everyone was still going to be safe. It was more exciting the a line drive into outfield for me.That play was a little payback from the baseball gods for hitting 5 hard hit balls directly at Wake players in previous innings. We hit some shots at folks, then we get that Chapman gift.
Also have to say the Marin bunt was as beautiful an execution as Iāve seen in forever.
