The Official VCU @ Tennessee (Chapel Hill Regional Elimination Game Thread) (Sat. May 30) (NOON ET) (ESPN)

Milwaukee is thumping UCF. So, a team with a losing record wins their conference tourney, makes the show, proceeds to whip the crap out of #5 Auburn, and continues in their second game to thump UCF early, 7-0. Man, that’s how you want your team playing at the end of the season!
Those dudes apparently just needed some warm weather. 26 runs in 2 games, can we hire their hitting coach?

One of the many reasons why I love baseball but it’s a cruel mistress. Sometimes there’s just no logical reason for what happens on the diamond. I’m still haunted by a certain game I played a few decades ago.

I hadn’t really watched much of the other SEC teams but it appeared to me our players were as disgruntled with the strike zone this weekend more than any other weekend I remember , my question is do you think was a result of having ABS in Hoover or just crappy strike zone

Good point. Would be curious to see the actual data.

For a meltdown check out UK. Up 3 heading to the 9th. WV loads the bases. Get a walk in run. A sac fly RBI. And then balked in the tying run only to be followed by a 2 Run HR. All they had to do was get 3 outs and instead of going to UCLA would host a super vs St Mary's.

Watched Squeeze Play on ESPN yesterday for hours. Such great coverage of the Regionals! Baseball is such a great sport where anything can happen and always provides some great moments.

This past season, I only watched the Vols. Watching all these other teams yesterday showed me that we really need to upgrade our offense and pitching in a big way. Many of the teams looked well ahead of us in both of those areas.

Elander did a nice job to keep our team together and finish strong enough to make a regional. If he gets some power bats and pitching in the portal, we’ll be just fine. Go Vols!
