THE official UT vs. CAL football game thread

Never will I allow such an injustice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's getting to the point that I'm going to have to split all of that off and make it it's own thread. Do you want me to have to do that on my birthday?

Alrighty folks, it was a BLAST hanging out with y'all today, but I gotta get cute for this wine and cheese party I'm going to tonight. I'll be making my way to Berkeley tomorrow on standby tickets, so everyone wish me lots of luck. I'll probably be sitting in the airport all day and you'll likely see me then. Y'all be good. Talk to you soon! GO VOLS!

No that's ok <bows head> I'm sorry :cray:

Perhaps I should direct her to the Cal board where she can get flamed by hundreds of people when she refers to Cal as Berkeley. But I'm not trying to extend the argument. Really. :bash:

Yes, there's only one University of California SYSTEM. Berkeley is the flagship campus of that system.

You're right, we don't usually refer to UT as UT-Knoxville, but that's because we don't have other major campuses, so it's understood that when you don't use a specific campus designation, you're referring to UT at Knoxville.

The UC system, however, features 10 campuses as compared to our 3.

From wikipedia, for your education:

The University of California (UC) is a public university system in the state of California. Under the California Master Plan for Higher Education, the University of California is a part of the state's three-tier public higher education system, which also includes the California State University system and the California Community Colleges system. Its first campus, UC Berkeley, was founded in 1868, while its tenth and newest campus, UC Merced, opened in the fall of 2005.

In fact, there isn't a single mention of "Cal" in the entire article.

You're welcome.

You can be my wingman anytime.:salute:

It's three hours before I have to leave for the airport. Is it even worth going to sleep at this point? GOD, I hate flying standby. Tomorrow is gonna be a long day!

No, I always like to sleep on the flight over. I mean you will miss the meal but you are going to a spot with some of the best food so I think you can make it. Take a nap at the hotel if you are kept awake by your seating partner. :good!:

i'm not very good at sleeping on planes. unless i am in a wide body, i get seriously claustrophobic. i just checked the loads on delta and it looks like i'm out of luck -- 737's and 757's look the least booked for the day.

That is rough. sleeping would not be a good idea unless you are super good at getting up after a two hour nap. I would say go to the bar at the airport and have a drink but it is not open. Are you practicing yet? You could always bill a few more hours. I remember doing that at crazy hours.

Did you just cite Wikipedia to help your argument? And you're a lawyer?

Yeah, you're probably right. I'll stay up.

Not practicing yet. My contract starts October 1st, so I am enjoying my last few days of freedom. :) I can't imagine billing at this time of night and the good news for me is that at my firm I won't have to very often.
