Well, I saw something I didn't like out of OUR fans tonight. Right before the second half, the camera went to the Gator players about to take the field and you could see stuff flying out of the stands down on them.

We're better than that.

Acutally, I looked back at that in slo-mo because I thought the same thing. The object "thrown" at the Gators while they were waiting to take the field in the second half was a football--probably from a kicker warming up.

2 yards rushing for the Vols tonight. Not good enough to beat many SEC teams. Also, DeShawn Wynn had 104, breaking our long streak of no 100 yard rushers.

Unfortunately, with intense rivalry comes the inevitable ass&*^$e. I've seen them in Knoxville, Gainesville and everyother $EC venue inbetween. You can only set a better example and hope it's contagious. Not that I'm still not a sore loser............

We had no run defense tonight - especially against Tebow who was a extra running back in every play (and damned effective too). Tennessee sans rushing game is a scary proposition. Especially in the $EC where 100+ yard rushers are a dime a dozen.

I hate the new clock rules, seems like the few games I've seen that are close, the game is over at the 4 minute mark. My wife likes the time rules.

I previously thought "why would anyone pay money for that"? After having DVR from Comcast for a couple of years, I can't imagine living without it. Don't try it unless you're ready to order it or go buy one though - you'll be hooked for life!

0911 is absolutely correct. It's one of those things like a cell phone, high-speed internet, or a high-def TV--once you get used to it, there's no going back to what you had before.

Exactly what the hell was Ainge supposed to do when the middle linebacker was on top of him right after the snap? He got called for intentional grounding. His other option was to take the sack. You know what the difference is between being sacked and being called for intentional grounding? Absolutely nothing! That screwup was on the offensive line!

Were it not for Ainge, we wouldn't have even been in this game.

You have REALLY LOW standards if you think our defense did a fair job. The only thing that consistently stopped Florida tonight was their own stupid mistakes.

Actually, the difference between the sack and a grounding call is a loss of down. THAT was what made it a bad decision.

If you're sacked you lose a down anyway...a sack and intentional grounding produce the same result--the ball is placed where the sack/grounding occurred, and you move on to the next down. The only risk in Ainge slinging the ball was that it might be picked off--in which case the defense would decline the penalty and the touchdown would stand.

Besides, there are the two all important features:

1. You can be your own instant replay official (perhaps allowing real people rather than the current $EC lineups to perform this function would be a good idea. See also LSU vs. Auburn earlier today).

2. You can get up, hit pause, go to the bathroom and/or grab another beer without missing anything! :dance2:
