The Official Thread of Austin Peay State University Governors Athletics

First, Little Rock almost took out LSU.

Second, then you take out the "importance" of conference tournaments. It's no different than in College Basketball and you have a lot of 1 bid leagues there too
It can happen, but they were 10ish games under .500. They won the tourney. They get to go. But, Eastern Illinois, TnTech, ACU, Sacramento State and others still deserved at large bids ahead of the bottom feeder SEC schools that were a mere embarassing door mat in the regionals. 13 got in. 9 got booted. Some of those slots should have gone to some other at large well deserving teams.

ACC advanced 5 of 6 teams, with the lone boot being a very respectable WF losing to UT.

I'm completey OK if the NCAA changed things up and rule that no more than 50% of a conference can be represented in post season.

Agreed.

They've got to do something.

Can anyone tell me how this benefits an athletic program like Austin Peay's?

They (along with EKU) ditched the OVC to start up ASun football, but now instead of playing their long-time regional rivals they'll be trekking out to Abilene Christian and Tarleton.
