Anyone know when SEC will announce who is the home team tomorrow? I read where the higher seed is always home team for sessions 1-4, but didn't see how they handle subsequently. Anyone know why they don’t use highest seed for sessions 5-9? Are they trying to ensure everyone gets a chance to be the home team??? If so—-Seems like a participation trophy type of mentality

I seem to remember that we were the visiting team some games at Hoover in '22. Dumb.

I know high seed teams are focused on Regionals, often losing their edge for SEC Tournament, but yesterday's meltdown against vandie was embarrassing. We Vol fans in Hoover sat there stunned; hope Tennessee team is angry after Wednesday's debacle.

Neither team really has nothing to play for. Top seeded teams shouldn't have to play in this made for t.v. money tournament. Vols were flat and uninspired yesterday.

Guess we're all going to have to realize this tournament is just for prepare for the big show. As long as you are one of top 4 seeds , just ready your team for Omaha. Lower seeds are playing to hopefully host a regional or just to make a regional. TV will do what he thinks best for the big pitcher. GBO 🍊

Those were the worst collective at-bats from Moore and Amick I've seen this season. Amick went up there like he had a flight to catch. I think he hacked away at the first pitch every single time he got up there. C-Mo is usually so disciplined in what he swings at, but he wasn't seeing it well yesterday. I'm not worried at all, regardless of what happens today. I would like us to win at least today so more of our weekend guys get at least a little time out there so they don't get rusty and out of rhythm too much by the time regional play starts. But this tournament just doesn't mean all that much to be honest.

I think they said on the telecast we led the league in first pitch swinging at like 36% , I know we’re swinging at a ton of first pitches that aren’t strikes and making weak contact or getting behind in the count , I’d like to see us be more selective , I’m not sure Amick swung at a strike yesterday, we need our right hand hitters to be better against lefties , Stark with his worst game of the year behind the plate , he’s caught all 3 weekend games for several straight weekends and could be getting run down

The worst part is when you don't care, you can pick up bad tendencies that will haunt you into the next games. It's hard to get a team playing as a unit. It's very easy to lose that unity by playing half-assery.

If that’s the case, why do the teams that go far/win the sec tournament usually flame out in the ncaa tournament, while teams that lose early in the sec tournament make a long run to Hoover/win it all? I’m sure it’s not the case every year. But it’s been talked about on the govols247 podcast a couple of times.

I agree. I hate not at least trying to win. It seems to me that winning will get everybody more reps than being 2 and done. I can imagine those who spent money and time to attend the games are not happy.
