No way, Bruin. Sometimes, you have some good points, but it's the way that you belabor the point.

This is not a good point. The reason why Barnes publicly talks about effort is because he is trying to push the right buttons for the players to reach their potential. There is one thing, however, that this teams has consistently done, and that is play with effort.

It is plain and simple, and we have said it all year: this team has severe flaws. The talent is simply not there yet to consistently win games.


- down double digits in second half to Marshall
- down double digits to Gonzaga and made it a game late
- down to TSU
- destroyed UF, a rival
- great start to A&M game
- pounded USC at home
- took double digit leads against Bama and TCU
- down double digits (like 22) to UK and won
-destroyed LSU without Punter
- making a run in the SECT

All of the above were based on effort. Many of the reasons why we lost are because we are a perimeter team, no inside game, and no true PG. Let it go.

But, all I have to do:
- down double digits in second half to Marshall

I could give just as many specific examples of where effort was bad. Funny how quickly we forget about major issues with 3-4 individuals on this team played huge roles in some very bad performances

You are mistaking effort for inconsistent play. Fans of their own team can't admit that their own players just aren't good enough, so they use "effort" as the excuse.

Our talent is simply not there. Plus, it is really logical when we lost 4 straight blowouts without Punter. Our team lacks talent to begin with, and then you lose a guy who scores 22 points a game. Please, please stop.

I would agree with that if Barnes himself wasn't saying the same things I am here about effort

It also worth noting the 2 kids that have received the most Criticism from their coach are the most talented kids we have

Just like with Butch Jones, you can't always believe what a coach says. He says things for his own reasons, not for the fans. Just as when people used to criticize Butch about his robotic coach speak, I could give a flip what Barnes says.

While I haven't watched all of the games this year, I use my eyes. My eyes see 9and I knew before the year) that this team lacks talent. As PM said, "I can't say it any plainer."

I have Watched every second of every game

Effort is very up and down with the individuals on this team

I can't say that I have, but I don't have to. I agree that Hubbs has some effort problems. But I don't believe that many others do. It's also human nature to let down when you have a losing record and you lose your best player for the year.

The "effort" criticism just always upsets me. People just refuse to admit that we aren't talented. I am done.
