The Official Tennessee vs. Florida Game Thread, 7:00 pm ET, ESPN2

Uh oh......LET GET READY TO RUMBLE! LOL

Probably not. It's pretty accurate. TN isn't taking two steps forward and just one step back yet. Just about every win is getting cancelled out and the realistic goal remains to make the NIT. Win the next two and the tune could change. Kentucky and Vanderbilt are stumbling a bit... might could grab a win out of one of those. That Auburn loss could end up being a huge opportunity lost.

You have an rpi of 26 even after the loss. I wouldn't call that irrelevant

Sorry, but the RPI is garbage. UF hasn't beaten anyone that is real good. Even Richmond and Okie State had multiple losses before conference play.

School me then! As everyone can see, I know not one thing about RPI!

Might be but if they win 10 SEC games they get a bid

Well, they need to beat UK, A&M, and/or USCe. Any combination without those, and I don't necessarily agree. That would be 12 losses plus 1 in SECT.

RPI has been and remains garbage.

Did I hear the announcers correctly that the SEC had the toughest OOC schedule this year among conferences?

Didn't hear that, but I thought I read somewhere the ACC had it.

Not much help I know...

This is correct.

We play well for about 9 minutes every game. The rest of it we are aimless, leaderless, confused, and just plain inept.

Well since your football team seems to be doing the same thing, maybe the earth has once again found it's proper axis. Now if we can just get rid of the socialists...I mean democrats... progressives..

My guess is he was saying Floridas schedule was the toughest

...and I have no idea how. They have played 3 teams in the RPI top 50, all of which they lost. They have played 5 teams above RPI 150 and another at RPI 133.

The RPI only looks at wins and where they occurred and strength of schedule. Therefore, you can collect 20 wins against crap teams as long as you played your losses against top 35 teams and have a good RPI. Now, I know that it is an index, so you have to look at wins against other RPI teams. The simple fact that a team is ranked in the top 25, without more, is almost meaningless.

Congrats on the W. You are slightly less irrelevant than we are.

See yall in the NIT! My hope is that the Vols, Memphis, and Florida are in MSG for the NIT Final Four. Could be a tough year next year as well with the Vols losing Punter and Moore. But, then, I expect Barnes to make the tourney pretty much every year after that.

Is a great way to space the court and the bigs will get easier looks because of tired defenders guarding them.
