Packing the car and heading to the rising sun. I'm excited because my brother is joining me on this one, and it's his first VOL experience. Yet it's anti-climatic because my thoughts and prayers are with Jay and his family this morning.

GBO! Whip that bamma behind and give your all for Tennessee and Jay today.

Saturday's game marks the 95th all-time meeting between Tennessee and Alabama. UT is 37-49-8 vs. the Tide in the all-time series.

UT's 37 wins against Alabama are more than any other team in the NCAA.

Alabama has won the last five consecutive meetings since 2007. The last win for the Vols over the Tide was 16-13 in 2006 in Knoxville.

Tennessee won a series-best seven consecutive meetings from 1995-2001, and no other school has beaten Alabama seven consecutive times.

The Vols will attempt to reverse a recent trend in which they have scored 17 or fewer points in the last eight games vs. Alabama and 10 or fewer points in the last four meetings. Alabama has averaged 32 points per game in the last five games vs. the Vols.

A Tennessee Win Would...

Represent the first win over a No. 1-ranked team for the Vols since defeating No. 1 Auburn, 38-20, at Neyland Stadium on Sept. 28, 1985. Tennessee is 2-9 all-time vs. No. 1-ranked teams, with the last meeting being a 38-7 loss to then-No. 1 LSU on Oct. 15, 2011.

Allow the Vols to snap Alabama's five-game winning streak in the series.

Mark the 798th victory in UT history, two wins shy of becoming the eighth program to reach 800 wins.

Give UT its first win over a ranked team since beating No. 21 South Carolina, 31-13, on Oct. 31, 2009.

thanks for all the additional info/stats...good stuff. I'll be repping up in Indianapolis. Trying to figure out how to pass the time until 7pm...other than the bourbon that will likely start flowing soon . GBO!
