Saturday marks the 96th all-time meeting between Tennessee and Alabama. UT is 38-50-7 vs. the Tide in the series, including losses in six consecutive meetings. The last Tennessee win was a 16-13 victory in 2006 in Knoxville.

Tennessee won a series-best seven consecutive games over Alabama from 1995-2001, and no other school has defeated the Tide seven consecutive times.

The Vols will attempt to reverse a recent trend of scoring 17 or fewer points in the last nine meetings vs. the Tide, including 13 or fewer in the last five.

Improve the Vols to 5-3 through eight games for the first since 2007.

Represent the first win over a No. 1-ranked team for the Vols since a 38-20 win over top-ranked Auburn on Sept. 28, 1985.

Improve Butch Jones to 55-30 (.647) in seven seasons as a head coach, while marking the 804th win in tennessee football history.

Snap a six-game losing streak to Alabama, a nine-game SEC road losing streak and improve the Vols to 5-6 in Tuscaloosa all-time.

The Vols improved to 23-7-2 all-time vs. South Carolina, including 15-2 at Neyland Stadium, with a 23-21 win over the No. 11-ranked Gamecocks on Oct. 19. South Carolina was also ranked No. 9 in the USA Today Coaches' Poll.

Michael Palardy's 19-yard field goal as the clock expired was the first game-winning kick for UT since James Wilhoit's 50-yarder to beat Florida on Sept. 18, 2004.

It was the first win over a ranked opponent, and the first SEC win in October, since Oct. 31, 2009 vs. South Carolina (31-13), ending a streak of 19 consecutive losses to ranked teams starting with the Chick-fil-a Bowl loss to Virginia Tech on Dec. 31, 2009.

The victory also makred the first win over a Top 15-ranked opponent since Oct. 27, 2007 vs. South Carolina (27-24).

It was the first win over a USA Today Coaches' Poll Top 10-ranked opponent since a 51-33 win over No. 10 Georgia on Oct. 7, 2006 in Athens.

Tennessee has a winning record (4-3) through its first seven games for the first time since 2007 (4-3).

We should probably go ahead and start a "We got screwed by the refs!" thread. Probably would help the mods from all the merges that will take place.

I expect us to do some trickery or onside kicks early. Remember Saban onside kick to open the game in 2007? Set the tone for that game.
