The Official Tennessee @ Kentucky Series Thread (Fri. 5/1 6:30PM ET SECN+) (Sat. 5/2 2PM ET SECN+) (Sun. 5/3 1PM ET SECN+)

I should probably wait until after the game is over, but man… South Carolina is just a really bad baseball team. Watching them this weekend against LSU has been hard. I mean, I love watching my team win, but they just play bad baseball. I watched y’all and the LSU fans giving our teams (respectively) a hard time all season long, and the criticisms have been earned in many cases. But, I can’t help but think what the South Carolina fans are saying about their team! We all might think we’ve had a rough season, but truly, it’s not even comparable to SCe. Normally I wouldn’t post something like this, but I think I’m just reminding myself it could always be worse.
South Carolina fans just want their team to no longer be a laughingstock (which is a similar position to where we were before Tony V took over)

Let’s actually think this through for a second…

Texas A&M Aggies baseball took the No. 1 team in the country last year… and missed the tournament. Now? They’ve flipped it into a Top 10 squad with two weeks left and are sitting as a projected Top 8 national seed.

Meanwhile, Tennessee Volunteers baseball has a coach who just posted the winningest first season in program history and has the team lined up for the postseason…

What’s your argument again??
This pitching staff is lost and getting worse and this is the time of year you can't have that happen. At the plate swing at way too many 1st pitches for me, and instead of taking what the pitcher gives you you are still trying to hit everything out of the park. Don't get me wrong I DO NOT like small ball but how many time have we seen them just pop the ball up, put the ball in play the home runs will come. Levi Clark is a perfect example of this the last few weeks he has taken a little off the swing and good things have happen. How many little league base running errors have we seen this year again that is coaching and kids just trying to do too much. Play within yourself. They still have trouble turning a double play mostly because we have someone playing 2nd that shouldn't be. He needs to be in the lineup but he isn't a 2nd baseman, but then who do you take out that is the problem. Maybe its just me I am a old man, 62 and set in my ways but when it comes to baseball I am a perfectionist, that comes with being a lifelong Yankees fan.

Maybe true but thay have won more than anybody else. Alot of the problems they have now is the GM has lost his nerve can't do whT needs to be done anymore and don't even get me started on the manager, Boone should have been fired 2 years ago, to me he is the Yankees Bobby Cox, a man that had all that talent but only one 1 world Series, and thats the bad part at least Cox has one Boone has none.

True. But, this is a school that won back to back NCs in 2010 / 2011, made the CWS in 2012, and their latest Super Regional appearance was in 2023. So, they haven’t climbed the mountain in a long time, but they certainly have done it before. They’re in a bad spot right now

While all that mess was going on late I was prepping some armadillo eggs for dinner. OMG. First try was incredible. I àm sure your hubby has "made you" eat em.
He has a smoker that he cherishes. Anything and everything that could be possibly smoked, he has fixed. I struggle with the smoke taste, I don’t care for it. And yes, he has made armadillo eggs!

while I agree this team has certainly struggled to gain footing...I have to remind myself...the SEC is prob the best top to bottom its been in a while. Every single game and series in the SEC this year has been intense. It just has...and the pitching has been so impressive. Having said that...I hope Josh can regroup the guys after a pretty dismal display in Lexington. I even saw Henry Ford strike out today on three straight 12/6 breaking balls...those are the things we need to wash out. CLEARLY...we have plenty of talent and arm talent as well.

My sister is a Gamecock and she didn’t even want to watch today. Tanner never should have hired Manieri, he was never a good fit for them. Didn’t help that his car had LSU stickers on them lol. Founders Park is a very nice stadium and there are many empty seats this year. Theyve got to do something to bring the fans back. They have all always wanted Schnall from Coastal.

It’s really frustrating to watch this team play at times , if we had two elite bullpen arms we’d be near the top of the standings , our offense has struggled at times but our defense has been pretty dang good most of the season as has our starting pitching , the base running blunders didn’t just start this year it’s been bad for a while , I myself would use the bench to get my point across but that’s just not a thing anymore with the transfer portal era , it’s gonna be tough to go 3-3 the last two weekends , our rpi should get some better with the quality opponents , E has taken some heat for his bullpen management and rightfully so but his hands are kinda tied with its lack of production , very fortunate to escape with 1 this weekend

Zero chance you move Grindlinger. He's literally the best hitter on the team. In SEC play he's almost 100 pts higher than the #2 hitter on the team. He's had a rough weekend but agree Einsfelder has to play bit put him in the OF for Jay. Jay has been awful
I meant move him to catcher when Stone went out. Keep Wright at CF.

I always liked Coach Tanner. He cared about the kids and he loved the school and he was a darn fine baseball coach. Teams had a lot of grit.

GBO!!!
