Well at least I could bank on Jonesey caring about the game. It looks awesome indeed. Hopefully more news soon. Do you know of a release date?

There is an unknown feature that is being labeled as "massive." Not sure what it would be.

I still haven't played 08 online yet! :banghead2:

Blame my re-addiction to Oblivion; downloaded The Shimmering Isles the other day.

Wow I was actually in the same exact predicament with the same exact games a week ago. Now I'm back to NHL.

My money is on the massive feature being online dynasty, complete with trading, drafting, etc.. maybe with full playable minor leagues that other people would play as.

ie. I would be the Predators, control all the roster moves, etc.. and KC would play as my farm team, completely at my mercy!

I hope they over haul the dynasty mode from 08. It needs alittle work.

One thing that I'm automatically not going to like about this game: The Thrashers will probably suck. :cray:

What needs work? Just wondering. I think it could be better also. The only complaint I have is not being able to re-sign players during the middle of a season...unless you can do that and I'm missing something completely.

NHL 09 - The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

• Yes, we are fixing bugs that have been called out in all of the forums, like the dynasty bug where released players ended up back on your roster and:

• The ability to turn off CPU trading in Dynasty
• PS3 locked at 60 FPS
• The bug called fighting
• Oh yeah…less hip checking

• The dump and chase style will be a genuine way to win a game. (The new flip dump will sometimes bounce over the defensemen’s stick and get him in all sorts of trouble. Then you can use the lift stick or the new checking system to get the puck back using one of the new forecheck strategies).
• Lower skilled players will have a tougher time deking and scoring than in previous years.
• Did you watch Sidney Crosby protect the puck with one hand on the stick when powering his way to the net? You can do that too.
• Separate line changes for forwards and d-men (finally)
• We are adding features that will help newcomers to the series. Features like an interactive tutorial and a simplified control scheme. The reason for this is simple. We want to grow the sport of hockey. Hockey has great momentum right now, and we should all be working together to bring new fans to the sport. Hockey is truly a global sport and this game sells very well overseas as well as in NA, so we added several new teams from top leagues around the world.
• We will have lots of retro jerseys in the game (Seals, North Stars, etc) and we are doing something even more special with one of the NHL franchises.

The whole thing is a bit cumbersome to use. Like adding/benching players, scouting, etc.

I've just started a season with the Preds on 08. I'm 2-8, but I'm playing on the hardest skill level so it's hard as heck to win.

I like how 09 is going to have 100's of different checking animations.

The old hip checks in 08 are fun, but getting old.

You've got some moxy at least. I've only played on superstar for the achievements...then went back to the default difficulty.

I was really hoping for some more defensive skills to come into play in 09. And yea you can only have so many hip checks. But it looks like they are not forgetting about the offensive side either.

Yeah, 08 needed the skill stick on defense bad! That's what I like about 2k hockey. You can actually play d on it instead of poke checking like a retard.
