The Official LSU @ Tennessee Series Thread (Fri. 4/3 5:30PM ET SECN) (Sat. 4/4 6PM ET ESPN2) (Sun. 4/5 1PM ET SECN+)

Luxury of 2nd guessing. We’d all expect a 4th year senior to be able to perform on Friday night over a true freshman.

If Cam goes more than 50 pitches, I doubt you’ll see him on Sunday. Trying to maneuver around a bad bullpen is impossible for a manager.

Biggest issue is the Vols don’t score enough runs. TN didn’t score another run after Browns GS until the 9th. Similar case in Nash last week. Too many empty innings.
No reason Grindlinger should not be in the lineup everyday going forward. Still need someone at second who can hit.

Well you don’t know much about baseball then. The entire bullpen fiasco today was on the players themselves. JE tried everybody & none produced.

I’d lay the entire series at Vandy on the players. They were the ones who didn’t produce time after time.

When players fail repeatedly to produce it ain’t on the coach who inherited them. JE did blow the Game 3 at Ga. Otherwise, he’s been in an impossible position trying to score runs with a team with no speed, limited power & very few good hitters.
The classic “you don’t know baseball” comment because someone disagrees with you. Elander made some bad decisions Friday and today. If you look at some of the media comments tonight you will see they agree with me. Your arrogance is through the roof.

And some of you sound like little league parents “it’s the coaches fault”.

Did you bother to look at the stats for the game? The greatest manager in NLB can’t win with his hitters are hitting like .100 and his bullpen explodes.

Media comments? The easiest way to coach any sport is from the broadcast booth. Classic 2nd guessers who know less than most of us much less the actual coaches.

On the bright side maybe a ****** year like this year will reignite the passion of the fanbase again when we do turn it around. It used to be nearly impossible to beat us in LNS. Now it’s a non- issue.

I think our AD has a little to do with that. LNS has not been the same since the students were moved. Also, it helped having Tony pushing the envelope with swagger from him and his players. But yeah, you’re right, our home game atmosphere is dead.

Since you are calling everyone wrong, here ya go..
No one said they have always made the SEC tournament.

Your first post was that we wouldn’t make the Sec tournament. I said “that’s wrong”

You then said, they are making the change to allow all teams in this year. I said “wrong again.”

If you don’t know the basics, you might not want to be criticizing the team. Just a thought.

Patience my Volnation brethren. I’m confident Coach E is the man to lead our program. We are not off to the start we are accustomed to and the way we have lost games has been astonishing. Josh will get better through time. We may not get the results we all expected in year 1, but he will return us to competing for championships. To be honest, I think most of us may have over estimated our talent level based off hype. Baseball does not work like that. For those of you questioning Josh’s ability to lead our program, I say patience my friend, patience is required with a change in leadership. So just be PATIENT!

Our baseball team sucks and I don’t agree with a lot of Elander’s decisions. However, I like him and I hope he gets another year to figure it out if this season continues going down the toilet. My biggest concern with him is that it doesn’t seem like he has a good feel for the game and often times I’ve wondered if he’s paying attention. There’s been several crucial moments where the camera has turned to him and he’s talking to other coaches instead of watching his players’ body language. Communication is obviously important but did anyone in the dugout even see Landon Mack grab his oblique yesterday before running the count to 3-0? Our catcher had to force Elander to send someone out to check on him. Maybe I’m an idiot but I don’t see how anyone can effectively manage a team when they are constantly turning away from what’s happening on the field to chat with other coaches.

It's weird how the whiners don't show up in game threads until we start losing. When we were ahead the cryers and complainers were no where to be found.
That’s because we’re celebrating with our friends and family when we are winning. It’s not weird. None of us like what we see and many of us just come here to find answers or simply vent.

The TigerRant is the same way. The whiners are all over the game threads, until we start winning. Then they disappear. I chalk a few of those people up to be trolls, but the rest?? It’s like they actually want our team to lose. It seems to give them great joy to piss all over the team, and complete misery when they can’t.

Ya know, for a fan of another team to come here and be decent, nice, and level headed...makes me suspicious 😂. I have a hypothesis that you're actually a vol fan posing as a tiger fan😉.

I'm just joking around. Thanks for you're input!

What are their jobs if not to improve the very things we all complain about. E has harped on terrible launch angels after multiple games this season, why can’t he, as the former hitting coach, and/or Jereloman the current one get that fixed? Are the players incapable of making the adjustments and maintaining the muscle memory required to make the adjustments? If so, why do they continue to play or why were they recruited to begin with? Impatience and poor swing selection is another weakness yet we’ve seen little improvement there. Our inability to spit on pitches/take pitches/make pitchers work is astounding. Way too many 4-10 pitch innings. Some of that is in players approach, but some is in philosophy.
