In his four years with the Vols, Reggie White collected a school-record 32 sacks in establishing himself as the most prolific pass rusher in Tennessee history.

He had a sack in every game but two and dropped the quarterback four times against The Citadel, another school record.

White was named the SEC's Player of the Year and while earning consensus All-America and All-SEC honors.

White was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002. He retired as the NFL's all-time sack leader with 198.

Think about that for a second...1 time out of every 9 times he touched the ball, Willie Gault took it to the checker boards...incredible.

Yeah, right....we were there. Miami gave no respect to Tennessee, but those 'Canes ended up eating their own words. My favorite Tennessee football game! 35-7 VOLS!
My brother in Orange, I too was present in New Orleans for the return of the Vols to the Sugar Bowl. An estimated 60 thousand Vols fans occupied the city, outnumbering Miami fans three to one. Heady days…
