Freeman? Barnett? Hendrix?

I've never read up on Freeman or Hendrix, so what's the scoop? As for Barnett he's looking to earn that OSU offer isn't he. From what I gathered, the Vols were about third for his services. Do you remember is he is the one that is really close to Gaulden? If so, I do remember Gaulden saying that wherever Barnett goes, he will follow because they want to play together.

I wouldn't say we are 3rd. But I would definitely be worried about an OSU offer. Freeman said us and Ga Tech lead. Stanford makes me nervous though. Hendrix's family is Vol fans, and it seems like we are in the lead. 247 predictions have us picked on all of them

DL - Poona Ford
DL - Dewayne Hendrix
DL - Derek Barnett
DL - Michael Sawyers
LB - Dillon Bates
LB - Petera Wilson
LB - Kevin Mouhon
LB - KeShun Freeman

This is what happens when you have a coach who actually recruits. We may have to turn away good players if they don't commit soon enough. For instance, if Cortez McDowell wants a spot, he needs to get on board. We are in it for so many good DBs. We may not land all of: DJ Smith, Green and Gaulden, but those 3 with Payne are probably all we take at CB.

Also, don't forget guys like Ty Tomlin, Lorenzo Featherston, Dontavius Blair, Eric Lauderdale, Taven Bryan, etc. Good players who are quiet right now.

One thing I can guarantee is we will be in on some players we haven't heard of yet, especially at OL, DL, and LB. Happens every year with growth spurts and what not.

I can also guarantee some of the "for sures" we have in our heads will end up going elsewhere and we'll riot. Then some other schools' "for sures" will come to UT and we'll celebrate. Lots of meltdowns coming.

I predict we finish in the 10-15 range nationally and about 6th in the conference in the rankings. Look at our per player average. It is not very good, and rivals just redid their rankings. I'm not trying to be a wet blanket, just being realistic.

per player average has nothing to do with it, it's all about total points...

plus one of our guys is currently unranked due to his juco status.

are you familiar with how this works?

Missing one small name... TODD KELLY JR.

A lot of these may seem set in stone right now, but you have to remember that it's MAY. That field of players will change quite a bit by the end of the year.

It's crazy that we'll have half our signing class by the end of June most likely though.

Yes. I am familiar with RIVALS formula. It only tallies total points for the top twenty recruits per class. So assuming our average remains the same, our large class won't mean much, and as other schools fill up with higher averages, we will get passed up. Does anyone expect Louisville to still be sitting at 8 or Bama at 11 come signing day?

Also, we're forgetting about Johnathan Johnson aren't we? He'll almost certainly be on campus soon and he'll take away one our backcount scholarships won't he?

Alright, summer is here, which means that these juniors are now officially seniors....

Which means their decisions are coming closer. Which means we can now make even more predictions. Who do we get? Let's assume we have 31 spots (I'm leaving off Kameel for now, because I don't know exactly where he goes)

QB - David Cornwell (I think we get him, I don't think he wants to be just an option for Bama)

RB - Jalen Hurd
RB - Treyvon Paulk

WR - Lawrence Lee
WR - Neiko Creamer (Most likely defense)
WR - Dominique Booth
WR - Josh Malone
WR - Stanton Truitt (Most likely defense)
WR - Vic Wharton

TE - Daniel Helm
TE - Ethan Wolf

OL - Orlando Brown
OL - Coleman Thomas
OL - Charles Mosley
OL - Matthew Pyke

DL - Michael Sawyers
DL - Bruno Reagan
DL - Dewayne Hendrix
DL - Joe Henderson

LB - Kevin Mouhon
LB - Greg Miclisse
LB - Dillon Bates

DB - Todd Kelly Jr.
DB - D'Andre Payne
DB - Cortez McDowell
DB - Rashaan Gaulden
DB - Wesley Green
DB - D.J. Smith

ATH - Evan Berry
ATH - Elliot Berry

K - Aaron Medley

I have us missing on Petera Wilson and Derek Barnett. Not because I think we will, but just because they seem the least likely, and I had to squeeze the Berry twins in. I see them being Vols, unless we tell them to go elsewheres. I know that's an insane thought, but with the amount of talent that we are getting interest from, if we actually show some tangible improvement on the field, we will be turning people away left and right.

Anyways, there is my prediction as of now. I'm glad that Butch is the one in charge of this. But honestly, I see nothing really outrageous about my prediction. I see it changing in some ways....take off one 4*, replace with another...

I mean, Wilson, Barnett, Ford, Adoree Jackson, plus so so so many others are still in play.

I've never been this excited about recruiting in May.

Tell the twins to look else where.:eek:lol:Because we got to much talent.

You must not be familiar with how it works because to get a lot of total points and finish top 5 or 10 you have to have 20 players. Look at the rankings and see a team with 3 less players ranked above UT and how because UT PLAYERS HAVE A 3.42 and a few teams have an average better . They only count the 20 highest rated players and use the average against the top 20 players from the other teams. Of course I think UT will end up with a higher average because they will get at least 10 more 4* or more and Hurd will be a 5* IN THE end. I know they get more points for other things.
