But they also make money because they charge crazy amounts for their tickets. Which is the biggest complaint on here. The prices at LNS will continue to rise to make it profitable. And the luxury suites will continue to be built just like at Arky. They started with 15 and now have 35.Duke basketball has been the best program of my lifetime. They play in a small arena…but it’s a great environment. That’s how I look at LNS.
Arky must have insanely low ticket prices on their seats at their stadium. I was looking at their financial reports yesterday and they only brought in $6.5million in revenue from baseball last year, and that's with a stadium almost double in size compared to oursBut they also make money because they charge crazy amounts for their tickets. I hope you’re right and that’s all it is.I just think Tony is a very loyal guy and loyal to people who helped him get to where he is. Don’t think he wants to leave or anything like that. Heck, he’s even said he doesn’t think Arkansas fans like him very much.
From a coaches perspective (I’ve been at 3 different schools, albeit not Tony’s level), you miss people you’ve worked with and develop friendships with a lot. You spend a lot of time with your team and coaches, so you develop a tight bond with them.
One of the cool thing about CTV, he doesn’t really use “coach speak” and speaks from the heart. I don’t think he’s all that comfortable talking about himself and always talks about other people that have helped him get to where he is, it’s just magnified because Ark wants to make it more than it is
Their donor base big money guys are primarily basketball guys. They have to be to sustain that kind of success. But they also make money because they charge crazy amounts for their tickets. I’m seeing folks complaining, whining, moaning, and criticizing Tennessee baseball and athletic programs on social media. That’s really unfathomable, disingenuous, and totally stupid. I swear, I think people are just not very bright. They really should follow another team or teams. Thank you, fellas, for a great season and for being great human beings.
It’s a sickness, Mookie. We are blessed.Social media is a cesspool. It’s filled to the brim with negativity. It’s basically an outlet for the loudest voices to say whatever they want with no repercussions. I try to ignore the opinions spewed there, and hopefully those in the athletic department and our student athletes are able to do the same. Easier said than done though considering many folks will go out of their way to tag the specific player or coach in hopes of them seeing it.
Perhaps any of us who has social media accounts should post with whatever are the hashtags, congratulating and thanking our team and cheer them on. A small drop in a sea of crazy (I assume), but maybe our team and other of the loyal and realistic would see it. Maybe others would repost the sane posts. Idk. Maybe not.Social media is a cesspool. Btw, you two (and many other "old hands" and "learned noggins") have been a huge help to me learning and learning to love baseball and I am sincerely grateful to you and all the others. It’s a sickness, Mookie. We are blessed.
Hey, it’s all about growing the love of the game and respecting others. Obviously, I’m a huge Vol lover, but so glad you have come to love baseball. Always glad to see your comments, and I do appreciate your kind words.Btw, you (and some other "old hands" and "learned noggins") have been a huge help to me learning and learning to love baseball and I am sincerely grateful to you and all the others.
