Give Auburn credit. We helped them with the 3 turnovers but they made 2 straight contested 3’s that got them back in it.
Especially with Auburn involved, they have gone on a 10-0 run 31 times in 33 games this season.I can tell you're new to basketball. Game of runs.
It’s a game of runs and those usually come when the other team makes some mistakes and you start hitting some shots. We made our run and they made theirs. We were better in the end. Not much else to say other than Great Win.Yeah but you knew that they could do that. So the turnovers were just terrible. And they weren't even really caused so much as we just did them. Taking the 5 second call was brutal.
And also Lanier's really dumb 3 point shot. Those were all things we could control and we kept getting worse.
Excellent stat there. There was no choking involved. Just a run by a great team that has done it 31 times.Especially with Auburn involved, they have gone on a 10-0 run 31 times in 33 games this season.
That’s just gonna happen.
They did it. We absorbed it. And won.
Stick around a few more decades -none of that is a “choke” —No disrespect meant to anyone!
How many times a game can you stop the game to get a guy medical attention (Chad Baker-Mazarra)? They always go to the monitor and don’t see anything or else see that he did something dirty to someone else. He never even has to leave the game. I would think if you have to stop play for a guy he should have to come out. He need to go play European soccer.Well let’s take stock of what just happened:
- Refs were awful as usual but the Vols fought through it. We were the tougher team today.
- Free throws? Not a problem. That was some clutch FT shooting.
- Hot off the presses: Baker-Mazzara fell down on the way to the locker room.
-Getting in the bonus with 13 minutes to play was the turning point.
- Lanier got us off to a hot start again and then ZZ and Mashack and the rest carried it home. ZZ was simply outstanding.
- Credit to Dubar. Several big plays today.
- Really like Broome. Great college player and we had nobody that could guard him one on one. Finally started sending another defender at him and forced him to pass. But Johnie, I have to ask this question. Are we still “too small”? Every time he scored he was doing that silly too small gesture. Looks like “too small” is playing for a championship and Auburn is getting on the bus and headed home.
Oh yeah, lastly- Bruce, please take some medication and SHUT UP. Really tired of his incessant whining and screaming and acting like a maniac on the sidelines for 40 minutes.
On to Sunday and the Big Dance. Really proud of this team regardless of what happens tomorrow!
Agree....he done very good when he was in for Igor. I told that one guy that loves Igor if he isn't getting it done it looks like Barnes is a lot quicker to put in Dubar and actually leave him in. He laughed at me, but probably ain't laughing now.Man. Looking back Dubar was unstoppable driving to the basket today. Only jacked up 1 - 3 point shot - but was wide open. He has earned some more playing time.
It should be called the Mazzara Flop from now on.How many times a game can you stop the game to get a guy medical attention (Chad Baker-Mazarra)? They always go to the monitor and don’t see anything or else see that he did something dirty to someone else. He never even has to leave the game. I would think if you have to stop play for a guy he should have to come out. He need to go play European soccer.
No that’s not choking. The idiots that made the comments need to own them. There was a little “choking” as we got sloppy but it literally was only 4 possessions. I’ll take 1 4-possession slop run each game if it’s the only one like today. Every team has them. I think it’s only considered “choking” because it was late in the game and a big game. Auburn hit a couple tough shots too. They’re so good. Today we were better.
Yep, totally agree....and it's a live thread. Emotions are high and people say things that they don't necessarily mean in how they come out.Wish more people could understand this. Bad plays = negative comments, good plays = positive comments. It’s not personal or inflammatory, it’s a game thread. We all love the Vols.
