The Official #4 Texas @ Tennessee Series Thread (Fri. 5/8 6:30PM ET SECN+) (Sat. 5/9 6PM ET SECN+) (Sun. 5/10 Noon ET ESPN2)

I think some people are forgetting that E didn’t bring Reynolds in. Tony did. E just promoted him to pitching coach when Frank left to go with Tony. I’m not sure Reynolds would’ve been E’s choice to take over if the timing of the whole situation had been different.
I hope he makes a change because Reynolds is not it

At some point do we give Blaine some more looks on the mound? May need him in the postseason considering the alternatives

He’s seemed really aggravated with the pitching situation in a lot of his postgame pressers. If he keeps him I’ll be surprised.
I mean losing the Georgia series was 100% on pitching. Vandy series had moments where pitching late lost you maybe 2 of them, vs. Kentucky it was like we didnt know how to scout their hitters at all, LSU was another bad pitching example. Just too many games where the scores have exploded late.

Tony and Frank rebuilt the bullpen from last years roster and pretty much ran some of our pitchers off to do it and the roster limit played into to , I just don’t think some of these guys are SEC caliber arms , we’ll see what happens

What kills me is looking at the difference in the Texas bullpen and ours. Maybe we need to stop recruiting so well cuz we arent getting the caliber arms that they are to actually come to campus lol. We havent had a Ben Joyce, or Nate Snead, or anyone with experience that can really eat up innings.

The bullpen last year wasn’t good either. I do agree that some of the arms definitely aren’t SEC caliber and that E is going to have to retool the pen again in the off-season. Krenzel has regressed big-time and I seriously doubt he’s here next season. Arvidson hasn’t been as good and he graduates. Appenzeller has hit the Freshman wall. The rest of the pen has been downright awful. There’s a coaching problem.
