- Derek Barnett went No. 14 to the Philadelphia Eagles and was highest drafted Vol since Eric Berry in 2010.
- Barnett nished his career with a program record 33.0 sacks, breaking a 33-year-old record held by Reggie White.

Tennessee and Georgia Tech were both among the 13 founding members of the Southeastern Conference in 1932, but have not played each other since 1987. GT left the SEC after the 1963 season.

UT leads the all-time series with GT with a 24-17-2 record.

The Vols are 3-1-1 against the Yellow Jackets over the past
ve meetings between the two programs.

• Tennessee opens the 2017 season against ACC foe Georgia Tech at the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta.

• The Vols defeated NC State in 2012 in their only other appearance in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game.

• The Big Orange will be one of the first teams to play in the brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

• UT’s Labor Day meeting with the Yellow Jackets will mark the 25th time that the Vols have played on a Monday. They are 12-11-1 all-time in games play on Monday.
