Rick Barnes on Ethan Burg: "I’ll tell you a great story with Ethan. He was really struggling, and I actually asked him one day, I said, are you about ready to quit? Because he was down, about as low as you could be.

He said to me, Coach, I will never, ever quit on these guys. He said, this is the first real team I’ve ever been a part of. He says if I never play another minute, I will never quit on these guys. I promise you. He said I love them. There’s a brotherhood with us. I would never quit on them.

And he hasn’t. The last couple games, we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him. He has maturity, and he went through a tough time.

You’ve got to realize, his family has been in and out of bunkers in Tel Aviv for months now. It’s been tough on him, but he’s handled it really, really well.

That was one of the greatest things that any player’s ever said to me. He said, I would never quit on these guys. And he wasn’t playing. He just kept grinding and good things happen to people that do that.”

It’s finally the 2026 anticipated Sunday.

A Spring Sunday that the Vols could finally reach the Final Four if they can upset the favored Wolverines achieved by having more rebounds, less turnovers than the favored foe which would make it favorable that the Wolverines won’t be able to control the tempo.

Most post out of emotion in game thread - it’s a release. And those comments “game over” -when outcome still hasn’t been decided- are made out emotion.

With they said, this TN team can’t be down double figures under the 10 min mark. Let’s keep it close and grind it out- keep the score in low 70’s or lower.

My biggest concern about today is will the officials allow both teams to play the physical brand of basketball we are known for or will they make this game about the themselves and blow the whistle constantly. If this game becomes a foul fest, it wouldn’t favor us.

Yeah, the in game thread is for overreactions. We are winning it all when we go on a 8-0 run and Barnes is a worst coach in history when the other team goes on a run. Fan is short for phanatic but now we have a keyboard in our hands. I've wrote some stupid stuff through the years during and after loses. I will be the first to admit.

Keys to a Vols Victory

Get more rebounds: The Vols are more likely to score more second chance points by winning this stat vs a high scoring Wolverines.

Less Turnovers than the favored Wolverines:
The Wolverines are less likely to be able control the tempo if they have more turnovers, also more opportunities for the Vols to score points.

The Vols have a realistic chance of upsetting the Wolverines in a close game with those 2 stats.
