TENNESSEE leads the all-time series 2-1, and I remember all of em.
The first game was in 82 in Atlanta, my cousin (from Tyner HS in Chattanooga) was part of one of the bands that played, and the Vols lost 28-22 in the Peach Bowl.
In 1987, we played them in the Kick-off Classic. I remember the fumble by Jeff Francis backed up against our goal line, and Iowa recovered. Then their QB made a pitch that one of my all-time favorite players Darrin Miller ran 96 yards the other way for a TD, with a great block along the way by Terry McDaniel. We won that game 23-22, and it was a great win for us to start the season.
In the 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl, we won 45-28. We led 28-0, and the outcome never was in doubt.
