As someone who reads Reason frequently the "not get involved" is completely inconsistent with what they do as an organization. They are quite active in trying to change the system.

Not sure about that - the "10% for the Big Guy" apparently was 2017 while Biden was a private citizen. Unless there is info linking Joe to some of the deals that occurred during his term as VP it's just evidence that Joe plays the influence game like so much of DC; but just won't admit it.

Depending on details it could raise some questions about being compromised but I doubt there'd be sufficient direct information to conclude that definitively.

Here's an example of an article that contemplates the more effective way to make change. In addition they host debates (SOHO Forum) on important topics; promote L candidates; do interviews with L candidates; fought to get Ls into debates. They are fighting for the cause but the contributors run the gamut from small l to full blown L.

The problem I see with libertarianism is that by default it's an individualistic cause. How are you going to unite a bunch of people with various nuanced and individual ideas into a powerful party when they're disinclined to act collectively as a tenet of their belief system?

It's a hard one to me.

If that were the extent of it. However, Biden using his official capacity in firing the equivalent of the attorney general of Ukraine, implies and paints a different picture. Especially when Burisma emails indicate Hunter Biden’s role, his value, was to clear the criminal investigation landscape facing Burisma.

Not to mention Hunter Biden accompanying VP Joe on a Chinese business trip while he was forming a private equity firm as early as 2013.

"Text messages and emails related to the venture that were provided to the Journal by Mr. Bobulinski, mainly from the spring and summer of 2017, don't show either Hunter Biden or James Biden discussing a role for Joe Biden in the venture.

Even if Bobulinski is telling the truth, that Joe Biden knew about the China enterprise, it's not clear what the scandal is - he was a private citizen at the time and not running for president. Trump has elevated an unsubstantiated assertion that Biden had knowledge about his son's legal and failed business venture to a "crime" for which he "should be put in jail." To put in context how absurd this allegation is, one of the first things George W. Bush did after he left the White House was deliver a paid speech in China. Somehow he remains at large."

You are correct that the point being glossed over by right wing media at the moment, and which needs to be emphasized, is that Biden was a private citizen while this business venture of Hunter's was taking place. That has already been investigated by Senate Republicans, and Joe Biden was cleared of any wrongdoing.

Awesome. It’s ok that he was peddling influence he was a private citizen at the time. And it totally won’t make him compromised if he’s in public office again!

It was not a crime... and how much "influence" did Joe Biden truly have in the spring and summer of 2017? Republicans controlled everything - Donald Trump was the President of the United States and the Republicans controlled both chambers of Congress (Paul Ryan was the Speaker of the House and Mitch McConnell was the Senate Majority Leader).

Hell, even if there is child porn on Hunter Biden's laptop, that is still not a crime of Joe Biden's is it? There is not a single component of this story which points to a crime having been committed by Joe Biden.

A great deal it would appear since he is now the “leader of the Democratic Party” as was stated in the debate last night and is the candidate for president. To even say otherwise is ludicrous FFS.

He is now... but it was not clear in 2017 that Joe Biden was going to ever run for President again.
