This is huge! I had no idea they were that bad with penalties!

Thus far our oline has not struggled with pre snap penalties or a lot of holding calls. I hope that continues today. I think our oline has a chance to be really special.

Now, you all who are feeling the deep quivers need to snap out of it and get your Go Vols! on. If during the game, the breaks or the play of the Vols give you reason for concern, express your feelings then. Right now, you need to be Orange! Send your positive energy to the Vols!

This game has worried me all off season just like Arkansas game did last year. We lose today and the season is effectively over with being 0-2 in SEC play going into October. Lebby and Miss. St have been preparing for us the last two weeks and Lebby knows Heupel’s offense since they coached together. Must win game today and we better show up and not take our foot off the gas especially on offense but State is going to score 28 plus on our defense today. State is much improved and playing well this is a we are back moment for them today if they beat us. We cannot or should ever lose to teams like Miss. St when you are Tennessee.

Hot take: if theyre going all orange, they should do the helmet too. I wasnt a fan of the orange helmet but I'm also not a fan of the all orange look. I think I'd rather it be all or nothing (not a huge fan of the orange pants but thats better than all orange imo).

Heup is top five among SEC coaches in road wins among. But, it’s how TN lost the games they shouldn’t - Mizz (blowout), Jr (blowout), and Hogs (scoreless first half).

Below are obvious factors- questions deciding the outcome. Third (and 4th) down conversions on both sides of the ball will be Huge factors in this game, imo.

•Will Joey and Offense be able to communicate and go quick tempo?

• how will our D play vs their quick tempo?

•Will our receivers get separation from their quality DBs- “splash” plays?

•Penalties- we can’t get behind the chains.

•Turnovers- can’t put the ball on the ground or interceptions by Joey - make State earn it.
Can we turnover State?

• TNDefense- can we stop their receivers (2 quality transfers via portal) and reduce “splash” plays. Contain their running game.

•3rd down - TN must move the chains and STOP state on 3rd (and 4th) downs.

Good points. Similar to what I just posted before reading your comments.

Penalties - will the refs call DPI often or let them play. That concerns me as our corners hold often.

I think our offense plays well today but i have zero faith in our defense stopping them and getting off the field.
