So Trump is Trump. Love him. Hate him. Most fall into one of those 2 catagories.

But now, he's overtly using his platform as President to line his pockets. Bigly.

Am I the only one who finds this... disturbing? I mean back in the day, JFK posed, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." Yet, our current President doesn't seem to view the office of President as an opportunity to serve the public. He doesn't view it as an opportunity to help the American people at large. Instead, Trump overtly looks at his Presidency as a way to CASH IN.

Is this really what we want from our President? Is this really the new reality of "public service"?

The latest that set me off...

"The Trump Organization on Monday unveiled a mobile phone plan and a $499 smartphone that is set to launch in September.

The new service, Trump Mobile, will offer a $47.45-per-month plan that includes unlimited talk, text and data, as well as roadside assistance and a “Telehealth and Pharmacy Benefit,” according to its website.

The company, owned by President Donald Trump, also announced it will sell a “T1” smartphone, which appears to feature a gold-colored metal case etched with an American flag."

Do tell. Be specific with your examples.
Every president I can remember went on to profit and sell speaking engagements, books etc. I seem to remember Biden using his influence to help his son get high profile jobs etc.

It's problematic for sure.

Maybe they’ll sell the phones and some “artwork” in the same facility while “advising” companies on issues they know nothing about.

Trump is selling bibles. BIBLES. From his bully pulpit.

This is not normal. Put the fact that Trump's head would (should) explode in flames if he entered a church aside, this is beyond excessive. Nobody expects lily white... I mean the President can reasonably make money on the side, right? But this seems excessive... because it is excessive. It's beyond excessive - it really appears to be the prime reason that he is - and wanted to become - President.

President Donald Trump has made millions from his family’s cryptocurrency venture, private golf clubs and hawking everything from Bibles to watches – as he’s capitalized on his political prominence to expand his business empire, according to financial documents released Friday afternoon.

One of the biggest sources of income Trump disclosed was a $57 million token sale through WLF Holdco LLC, which owns World Liberty Financial Inc. WLF is a Trump family crypto company and boasts that it is actively run in part by the president’s sons.

Meanwhile, Trump owns roughly between $1 million and $5 million worth of the cryptocurrency ethereum. He campaigned on being the most crypto-friendly president, advertising a more hands-off approach to regulating digital assets compared to prior administrations.

It looks like your recent illness has progressed in a severe TDS to infection.

It's so dumb. I guess it will appeal to some. But to answer, no i don't want any president doing this.
The bar is so low for for us to consider someone a mediocre president. And yet, we can't elect anyone capable of it.

My apathy abounds.

How many millions did the Obama's get from Michelle's books while he was in office?
I honestly don't know, I've become numb to it. But I won't get all foghorn leghorn for one side and swallow my whistle for the other.
