for UT. AU plays two of our rivals and a strong AU is always better for Tennessee in the long run. He can help break the noose that Garner had on Atlanta, especially Gwinnett County.

Georgia will always get their share, now with Garner at AU it will be a little tougher.

Charlie Garner is going to make Aub immediately stronger against our other rivals? Doubtful.

That aside, I'm happy for another former Vol who is having some success in the coaching ranks. Former Vols being successful professionally or in coaching is ALWAYS a good thing.

Agree with the OP. this weakens an east opponent and might even help us with our biggest recruits in years

This just completely took us out of it for Lawson so I am not sure how its going to help UT?

Garner also didnt leave the SEC....still trying to see where this will impact UT in anyway.

Ummm...no! It helps us with Lawson IMO. Lawson is not happy with the hire, according to SCTiger (posts in recruiting forum, Auburn alum, and brings good info). Georgia offered Lawson very late. He's in their backyard, and this didn't set well with him. I think our chances sky-rocketed!

0/2

Garner didn't recruit Lawson to Georgia, so I can't see how a Garner hire remotely helps Auburn with Lawson.

And Georgia just lost their recruiting coordinator to a team in the west. Anything that weakens Georgia, benefits us.

Rodney Garner.......

It is good to shuffle things up like this. Might give Butch a chance to wedge in on a player or two.....?

I would like to know what the BARN offered Garner...both above and below the table...

I was under the impression he wouldn't move... we have offered him twice and he turned us down

Isn't he an alumni of Auburn?

I may be wrong?

I think James Garner would add immediate respect and intimidation to a team

You are the resident conspiracy theorist.

Well I certainly see a conspiracy if you think James Garner is going to the Barn..

Rodney will be a good addition for them but James just hangs out all day with Sally Fields :hi:

Sorry guys, newborn at home and in my sleep deprivedness I rarely make coherent statements these days or do the Vol research I used to do. I'll take my well deserved lumps. Blast away. I can laugh about it.
