yes, but its not much different for us. OSU was 8 unranked games a year, one year with 9. all in the regular season, I don't remember Ohio State playing any unranked in the post season.Because OSU is in the Big 10.
I believe 22 it was 6. At least looking at ESPN.yes, but its not much different for us. OSU was 8 unranked games a year, one year with 9. all in the regular season, I don't remember Ohio State playing any unranked in the post season.
in '23 we played 9 unranked teams
in '22 we played 7 unranked teams
in '21 we played 9 unranked teams, including the bowl
In the all SEC 10 game '20 season we played 6 unranked, but had 3 unranked games cancelled.
in '19 we played 10 unranked teams, including the bowl
dumb to brag about, but its not far off what anyone else really plays.

The top and probably the middle of the SEC, in any given year, is better than the top and middle of the Big Ten in any given year. The gulf is not as wide as many SEC people think, but it is better. Ohio St in particular recruits and portals in a way that is pretty similar to Alabama and UGA; they can have a ton of guys leave after a season and it doesn't really matter. They are the only team in the Big Ten who can do that. In the SEC, Alabama and UGA do that and when LSU is rolling they can do that.I get the B1G ridicule, and honestly I agree. Top to bottom, they haven’t even been close to the SEC most seasons, we shall see if current realignment fairs better for them in this area. I’m not holding my breath!
I do however think that this Ohio State team is potentially a very dangerous team. They have tons of talent and tons of pressure on them to perform. Especially pressure on the staff and specifically Ryan Day. This could cause them to crumble at some point, or it could create a football team that will be ridiculously hard to beat. For me, it’s too early to tell. How will all the talent mesh throughout the season? Will they become a team or just remain a group of great players? I’m absolutely no tOSU fan, I can’t stand the Buckeyes, but I do believe that they may be a very dangerous team this season!
The biggest difference between the SEC and the Big 10 is the number of programs that you can expect to see contending for/winning a national championship. The top and probably the middle of the SEC, in any given year, is better than the top and middle of the Big Ten in any given year. The bottom of both conferences in any given year I think is pretty much the same. I've never been a "Vandy would go 6-6 or 7-5 in the Big Ten" guy.

Yes. The dumbest anti-SEC argument is that it isn't really the entire conference that is strong, just Alabama. The biggest difference between the SEC and the Big 10 is the number of programs that you can expect to see contending for/winning a national championship.
in the era of the Bowl Alliance/BCS/CFP, six members of the SEC have won a national championship. To find a Big 10 team other than OSU or UM with a national championship, you have to go back to MSU in 1966.
To find an equal number of Big 10 teams with championships that the SEC has since 1997, you have to go back to 1927.
Until last year, it was just 1, OSU, even the ACC had 3 different teams. To be fair, they added USC to bring their total to 3, but the SEC added Texas, Oklahoma, bringing the total to 8 different teams. Half the conference has won a national title in the last 26 years. The biggest difference between the SEC and the Big 10 is the number of programs that you can expect to see contending for/winning a national championship.
