The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

Oh Vandy fans, you barely beat MT and now you think you can win the east, how about worrying about not letting Houston hang 100 on you as a more realistic possibility this season.

They should have paid franklin a lot more money to stay. This new coach doesn't have a clue what he is doing.

Vandy is gonna tank out like always and the fans are still gonna act like they are relevant. If it was up to me i would ship Vandy to the ACC and i would call Clemson up to the big leagues SEC could use some more tigers:thud:

They could have offered to rename the university James Franklin U and given him a lifetime contract of $4 million a year and he wouldn't have stayed.

He knew good and well what he got out of those 3 seasons was as good as it ever was going to get at Vandy. It had to be a perfect combination of a down East, Tennessee hiring the worst coach in their history, easy non-conference schedule, and lucking into one of the best receivers in the SEC (that he didn't recruit). And even with all that, he couldn't convince 30K to show up regularly to home games, which is why the BA Baracus Bowl or whatever it was called is the best bowl an 8-4 Vanderbilt team will ever get an invite to.

That's not going to happen. As sad as it sounds, the MTSU win bought him another season, if they were even considering firing him in the first place.

Looking at this vandy team without hate glasses and I see a lot of potential . Ludwig is the best Offensive Coordinator they have had . Mason is one of the top 10 defensive coordinators in the country so no matter what they will have a chance to win games . The only situation that screws them over is the fact that they can't recruit there , they can't get anyone to come to the games , and the academic standards are insane

Georgia looked bad the last two weeks. I wish we could play them again. I believe we beat them without Chubb and with the qwb having low confidence and Johnny Mc having more confidence.

"quib"?

Is SCar's pass defense worse than Tennessee's? Honest question. If the answer is yes then wow...just, wow.

Edit: just checked....ours is worse...so is Arkansas'.

Scar pass defense is worse !!! The rankings are kinda screwed by who we played

We're giving up about 30 more yards per game, have allowed more TD passes, have gotten fewer picks, have fewer sacks. I've seen enough of our pass D to know that it sucks and is deserving of its 13th place SEC ranking.

I actually expect Vandy to take advantage of SC's predicament this week and narrowly win.

Which consequently will blow this thread up again with a whole lot of lulz form VM about how Vandy is going to shake up the east, beat us, and make a bowl game at 6-6 or 7-5; MASON FOR COTY!!!!

What is going to be even more funny is when Vandy still gets beat by an awful SC team that just had their coach quit on them

It's much more likely that they lose at South Carolina (might be close) and then lose again at Houston (probably won't be close).

I think you're pumping a little too much sunshine into this Vandy staff. More and more people credit David Shaw for Mason's success at Stanford.

And recruiting is far from their biggest problem. Even with the (lack of) talent they have now, they are still more talented by a mile than MTSU and WKU, yet they lost to one and barely beat the other.

They are just plain bad all around.

This.

Let's not act like squeaking by MTSU is some grand accomplishment. I mean winning is better than losing but MTSU kind of choked more than VU pulled it out.

I'll say this, if they lose tomorrow at SC, they for sure won't win another game. This is their best shot at an SEC win.

The problem is they will still chalk up a "guaranteed" win against Kentucky (not likely, they looked decent last night against Auburn) and UT (not ****ing happening this year) even with a loss to USCe.

Trust me, in their delusion ridden minds they will find six wins on their remaining schedule to justify the reasoning they will make a bowl game.

Their "intellectual brutality" will find a path to six wins when they only a have a single game left sitting at 2-9.
