We must be talking about different Vanderbilts then; I'd argue this Vandy team is at least as bad if not worse than the UK team WKU beat a few years ago.

And VU playing SEC competition only means they're going to get blasted about 8 times; it in no way means it better prepares them for teams like WKU, MTSU, and Houston.

I also don't remember the last drive exactly, but I'm pretty sure they had a gimmie touchdown and a receiver dropped the ball.

UMASS definitely should have won that game. Like you said, they were the better team that day and just screwed it up late.

Vanderbilt was so genuinely surprised that they beat UMASS that one of the players went and hugged the UMASS kicker lol. David Williams was celebrating like they just won the CFB Playoff.

He gives Mason a game ball in the locker room, lol. Such a pathetic video. Williams is patronizing Mason like he's a little kid. He went from a coach who beat UGA, UF, and UT in the same season to a coach who is giddy over beating UMass.

I laughed at his pre-game speeches. I couldn't keep watching after "speeeech."

I felt like I was laughing at the Special Olympics.

Playing 80 players per game suggests that Mason is either clueless as to which guys are capable of contributing or the entire roster is so bad that there's not much difference between starters and scout team guys.

Imagine how bad a 4th or 5th string guy at Vandy must be. And Mason is saying he's going to trot those guys out onto the field on a regular basis.

No, I think the guy is legitimately one of the least intelligent coaches in CFB, which is quite humorous considering Vandy's perceived greatness in that facet.

This, I honestly think Dooley would have been better than Mason. neither one is qualified but still this is beyond bad over there.
