The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

EKU isn't FCS but they should be an easy win as well.

I meant in the weeks prior to the UL game.

It's not every day you get the chance to have a glorified scrimmage two weeks prior to your in state rivalry.

I wish we had an in state rivalry...

Our buddy immyaxl posted this gem in the thread about when they'll get their first SEC win:

I'll take that bet bro. The amount of delusion continues to amuse me. SC is the only team I think they MIGHT have a chance of beating, and even then I don't think so.

it takes some points to win. They cant muster up enough to beat anyone. 17 is about the max for them it seems. otherwise its in the 7-14 range. Awful.

Fair enough. Yeah, I like the schedule this year. I like not having to play UL the very first game like we did before also.

I wouldn't be surprised if it looks similar to this.

3 Quick thoughts about this picture:

1) Hahahahahahahaha man Vandy fans are a pathetic lot

2) Even their band sucks. Look at how crooked those lines are. Doubly pathetic.

3) Their players enter the field through a V. Hmmm... seems pretty familiar to what another Tennessee school does. That's the Vandy sucks trifecta.

Man, I don't know. It feels premature to even discuss this, but in 2 weeks it will either be a laughable proposition or a very real possibility.

I think first you have to look at established, elite coaches who might be willing to get a new start somewhere else. I'm not sure there are any as of Sept. 2015. Things could change, of course.

By late 2016 the roster should be absolutely stacked, so getting interest from coaches wouldn't be an issue. Butch would have done all of the hard work for them. I also think boosters would be so fed up with losing that paying Butch's buyout/the initial coach's salary wouldn't be an issue, especially if they had a big fish on the line.

Basically, anyone who walks into the job in Dec. 2016 would walk into an amazing situation. Top-notch facilities and a top 10 roster. It would be one of the most appealing CFB job openings in recent memory, that's for sure. Comparable only to Bama in 2007 and UF in 2005.

One guy to watch if he misses the playoffs this year due to a single bad loss is Gary Patterson. He wanted the job before we hired Kiffin and I don't think he would turn it down again under these circumstances.

Thanks for the response. It is premature but definitely something to think about if things continue south. I think Gary Patterson would be awesome. The Texas connection with recruiting would be solid. Get a good DC and we got something going.

Is Vandy at home or away for you guys?

Edit: NM, I looked it up. I would assume Vandy's stadium will be majority blue that game?

I think it will be Blue Mist all over.

I mean 2 years ago when Vandy hosted UK, they had just come off beating Florida for the first time in 22 years and beating UK would give them their 3rd straight bowl season, and only about 30K actually showed up and most were late. UK sucked that year so hardly any UK fans made the trip.

This year will pretty much be the opposite.

Ironic that Vandy football players force their way through a tight hole surrounded by a V?

Grand Vol is over here cracking jokes left and right and you're giving him nothing.

Vandy is FCS, glorified scrimmage, "I wish we had an in-state rival" I lol'd Grand Vol, for what it's worth.

somehow they will twist getting a win vs one of the worst FCS schools out there into them being in every game they play from here on out. There will be someone on that site that will try to convince the others that beating Austin Peay is similar to competing with Ole Miss in Oxford. I know Stockstill at MTSU cant wait to get them at home coming off a week where Vandy gets drilled by Ole Miss. He knows he has a real shot here. It would be hilarious. MTSU didnt completely embarrass themselves against Alabama either. Yeh they got beat 37-10 but thats better than i thought it would be.

I get that this place has fans that are just as delusional at times and just as extreme, but considering how few people actually post there, it's hilarious to watch them.

They go from WKU is a definite win, to then defending the L and talking about how improved they are, to then losing rather easily to UGA and having 25% of their own stadium being their own fans, to then after that talking about a bowl is extremely possible.

Meanwhile there are maybe 2-3 rational posters that know they are most likely to go 1-11 and they are shouted down as closet Vol fans.

I think the improvement on defense (if it holds up) almost certainly buys Mason a third year, even if they go 2-10 or 3-9 again.

Well some of their fans; some of the responses show they are just as stupid as always. Like this one:

While I don't think OU is that great of a team after seeing them in person, saying "nobody" projected them in the playoff or as Big 12 champs is definitely false. They had some pretty sizable pre-season hype and if they make some adjustments, it can still happen.

Actually, that dumbarse Vandy fan stumbled into a fairly reasonable post.

they still gave up 300 yards rushing almost to UGA and UGA played awful lol. Marshall Morgan missed 2 easy FGs too. I agree with you though. There D will be gassed by the second half of the year.

You just know David Williams is looking for any excuse to keep Mason and a statistical bump in defense will be it. Mason and Ludwig will promise an offensive turnaround in year 3, and they may actually win an SEC game that year if South Carolina continues its downward spiral. That will probably be enough to get him a 5 year extension, lol.

I know I'm living in a land of unicorns, rainbows and puppies chasing butterflies, but is it to much to hope APSU plays far above their level tomorrow and comes out with the W?
