Hey guys, I'm gonna try something new for the SEC games this year. I've always enjoyed scanning through websites and seeing what other journalists and experts have to say about the game and who they pick to win. And it's always fun to see how close (or not so close) some experts get with the score predictions.

247Sports:

J.C. Shurburtt
24-21 Tennessee

ESPN:

Edward Aschoff
20-17 Florida
David Ching
28-14 Tennessee
Sam Khan, Jr.
27-20 Tennessee
Greg Ostendorf
21-14 Tennessee
Alex Scarborough
23-17 Tennessee

FBSchedules:

Eric Taylor
24-13 Tennessee

CollegeFootballNews:

Pete Fiutak
23-20 Florida

The Tennessean:

Dave Ammenhueser:
24-22 Tennessee

Clarion-Ledger (Mississippi):

Hugh Kellenberger
24-17 Tennessee

CBSSports:

Jerry Hinnen
20-16 Tennessee

BleacherReport:

Brad Shepard
23-13 Tennessee

GatorCounty:

Daniel Thompson
24-14 Florida

AL (website):

Joseph Goodman
Florida 21-20
Lee Sterling
20-17 Tennessee

Average Score for Tennessee: 21.9
Average Score for Florida: 18.1

Tennessee is a four point favorite according to these 15 picks. I'll try to update as I continue to find more (closer to kickoff).

11 our of 15 journalists/experts picked Tennessee to win in the Swamp.

Go Vols. :hi:

The media knows talent wins games. For the first time in a decade, Tennessee is the more talented team. Hence we should win.

The 10 game losing streak isn't voodoo or black magic. Florida's just had better players and hence better teams.

Nothing more.

There's def a few years in the streak where we had the better team or at least a team of comparable talent. Last year included...not that we had a great team last year, but I do believe that our team was as good or better than the team fla fielded last year.

99% of Vol Fans pick us to lose....so that balances out.

Vols fans are either stupid or arrogant. Why is it difficult to accept the fact Florida's had better athletes the last decade.

For the first time in a long time Tennessee has the more explosive and better athletes. Hence we should win.

Vols fans still trying to act like we've list 10 straight because of mental blocks are delusional.

Nope. Tennessee has been less talented. PERIOD. Look how many players Florida had drafted last year.

You guys have been delusional in the past in overstating the talent at Tennessee.

Topic aside, why are you even on VN if you constantly insult and look down upon fellow Vol fans. You've already done it twice in this thread alone. I just wish we could all be as great as you. And isn't it kinda ironic that you call vol fans delusional when your username is "Dobbs 4 Heisman"?

You get way too upset easily. Yes FL has been more talented but alot has to do with coaching as well. Thats how upsets happen. Maybe you are the delusional one?

Probably because the fans have televisions.

They've seen South Carolina, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Georgia Southern, Vanderbilt, and Missouri all get it done.

i agree

but it he'll start to see some real frustration from the fans that wont go away in a day or 2 like after the ou game

It's possible. I suspect that most fans (outside of VN) have a more reasonable expectation for the process. It's all about resiliency, Boi.

He Gets another Year, regardless.

Yes, based upon stabilizing the program and recruiting two top 5 rated classes the last two years. I don't believe people are saying he hasn't done good things for the program. He has. We've seen progress in several areas.

It can be taken several ways. Some see it as Tennessee's football program was probably at it's lowest point in 50 plus years and was close to being perennial cellar dweller. Due to that situation, CBJ had more work cut out for him than originally thought. Situations like this take more than 2 years to correct.

The other way to see it is as CBJ can recruit well and win the games against the 2nd tier FBS schools and below. When entering conference play, he's struggled to achieve wins against our 3 biggest rivals, even when two of those rivals were on par with Tennessee in terms of talent/experience.
