I said this several weeks ago but was called a negavol. Lyle just isn't a big time coach. I would seriously consider hiring shoop and him hiring a young successful OC. Unless we back up the bank truck to some folks, this might be our best option.

Well OP...I might be able to go along with your idea of Shoop for HC but here's some problems to consider...

1...A HUGE $10 MILLION buyout of CBJ contract..

2...Then you have to PAY Shoop.

3...Then you have to PAY a O Coordinator.

4...Then you have to PAY a D Coordinator.

5...Then you have to PAY a bunch of assistants.

6...Then you have to PRAY that recruiting doesn't drop through the floor.

7...The the players have to learn a completely new O playbook and that takes lots of time.

There's more to this but the HUGE problem is a $10 MILLION buyout and getting even more $$$$$ to hire really good coaches that are also really good recruiters.

buTch may make some coaching changes after this season but I think he'll still be here for 2 more years.

Keep in mind that step 1 is to hire a new AD and he'll stay with buTch at least another year or 2 and maybe longer because of $$$ and the buyout.

It's lots more complicated than most here on VN ever think about.
