Really wish Nintendo would move away from the handheld and actually produce a console that wasnt built on tech from 10 years ago.

Considering the Switch is the 3rd best selling console of all time, I'd say you probably shouldn't hold your breath. They've made it clear they have no desire to try to compelte hardware wise with Sony and Microsoft.

Selfishly, I'm with you as I play my Switch docked to the TV nearly 100% of the time. However thats highly unlikely considering they kind of have this hybrid market to themselves now. Yes the Steamdeck and the Asus Rog Ally exist, but those are never going to have the mass market appeal that the Switch does. Plus Nintendo's success in Japan is vital and Japanese gamers have all but ditched the home console market in favor of handheld/mobile.

Switch 2 is rumored to be launching in spring 2024 and if the rumored specs are to be believed, the raw performance is reported to be in the ballpark of the PS4 Pro. Plus some other baked in features such as DLSS 2.0 support, some form of ray tracing, and up to 4K support when docked. If true, I'll gladly take that. For Nintendo 1st party games and the art style they use, this will be a pretty beefy hybrid system.

My post wasnt really one that was an expectation of Nintendo. Just saying it would be nice.
