Wtf is the point?

Well for me the point is that it's an opportunity to play a damn game with my son that DOESN'T involve shooting and killing something. Besides that It's a platformer/puzzle solver. If you've never played ICO or Shadow Of The Colossus you won't "get it." However these games from Team ICO are special.

Shadow of the Colossus was the same way. Just you and your horse. An open world to find the way through the puzzle and fight the enemy. The art design is so different. Also the emotional connection it builds between the characters is like nothing I've experienced to this day in a video game. By the end of the game that horse felt like a real friend to me. It had to be used to win so many of the fights. At the end of the game the horse falls a couple hundred feet while saving you and I honestly felt like I had been gut punched.

This.

Those are 2 of the best video game experiences I've had.

Ico is pretty sad too, given the bond you form with the girl.

Which tells me this game is going to probably end with a triple gut punch.

Yeah I can definitely see you bonding throughout the game and then something bad happening.

In SotC I was literally staring at the tv for a few seconds. Made me so upset. To add to it I was 12 at the time. I played it again recently actually.
