I remember all of the laughs that people aimed at Al Davis during/after his infamous press conference and how people were claiming he was senile and he drove Kiffin away. Now with this week's developements with the appologies, has Al Davis been vindicated? Does Kiffin probably owe him an appology?

And has it been determined yet if Davis owes Kiffin that $3 million or has he already paid it?

Al Davis has drove the Raiders organization into the ground. Every time you look up he's hiring a new coach. The once proud Raiders have become the laughing stock of the NFL. No big time proven coach wants to go there to work under Al Davis. The Raiders and Al Davis are a joke and alot of drama and Lane Kiffin was just being honest when he pointed it out.

Kiffin will take Davis to court if needed to get that $3 million he is owed. Al Davis is a billionaire--he should pay up.

Knowing what you know now, would it be beyond the realm of possibility that Lane may have said/done somethings during his time there that helped to get himself fired (as Al Davis suggested)?

I'm just saying... people were quick to jump on Davis, but in light of what happened this week, don't you think some people may have to crawfish a little or at least give it a second thought?

Of course he did things to get himself fired. He disagreed with Al's gameplan. He wanted to hire Monte Kiffin. He didn't want to draft a lot of players Davis wanted. He wanted to trade guys. The list goes on.

Al Davis has a VERY, VERY LONG track record of making rediculously senile decisions. He is the reason why Oakland is the 2nd biggest joke (Detroit being the biggest joke) in college football. He needs to back off and let football minds run that team.

I think all Kiffin has proven so far, is that he isnt a "yes man", which si what Al wants as a HC. He wants a guy that has no power over the team, and a guy who when he calls down to the field with a play, he actually runs it. Listen to Warren Sapps interview when the whole Kiffin/ Davis fiasco went down. Al is a senile old man with a power trip. He is ruining that franchise.

To be fair to Al Davis, it should be pointed out that at one time he WAS one of the great minds in pro football. Now, of course, that was many years ago, but it's at least worth noting that Al Davis personally built the Raiders into one of the premier organizations in the NFL in the 70's and 80's. It's also worth noting that he personally has run it into the ground over the past decade or so.

CLK made a joke and now everyone thinks he is a loose cannon. Ask yourself if you scored 39 out of 40 on the test, you were certain a violation against the HC of this past season NC team, don't you think you would not waste that opportunity on a booster function but you would go to MH and board a plane and file a formal complaint?

That still doesn't explain why Davis didn't let Kiffin run the team.

Davis has a history of being a more insane Jerry Jones. The Raiders is never the team of the HFC, it's always Davis' team... with the HFC being the puppet.

If anything has been shown this weekend, it is that Kiffin will not be a puppet... that much is completely clear.

If Davis wasn't known for stupid things and firing/hiring a new coach every 1-2 years, you may have a point here....but with the reputation he has.....Your Wrong!

Tom Cable lasts one year as Raiders coach. Its a revolving door in Oakland. If this had come from a credible owner, then there might be substance, but Davis lost his credibility when he traded Marcus Allen to the Chiefs.

There is a good reason the Raiders are considered the blueprint for how not run an organization in the NFL, that reason is Al Davis. He has turned a once proud franchise into the laughing stock of the NFL.

Yes I think it is likely that CLK said some things that probably led to his firing. Anything said almost certainly came out of frustration from not being allowed to coach his team without interference from a guy known for undermining his coaches ability to lead his team.

Al davis is trying to sell 20% of the team and hasn't had one bidder yet. Just shows you that nobody wants to work for or with the guy

I think it's pretty clear that Al Davis and Lane Kiffin are a bad fit, personality-wise. The particulars respecting who said what to whom is all kind of irrelevant now.

All of this will stuff will blow over with a couple of quality wins.
