I see a lot of people calling for a change in offensive strategy and that's fine and probably warranted. However, if the announcer was correct and 90% of college teams will be running the spread then I think developing a defensive scheme to stop it would be the key to winning championships. Some of you probably know the key to it but I really don't. It looked very difficult to defend and even when stopped it resulted in positive yards (4-7yds actually). I know the obvious is to say have awesome players at every position. A stout front four, fast strong linebackers, super athletic secondary but that's really not practical year after year. Any thoughts?

Tackle on first contact, have a very disciplined defense that stays at home, create a defensive push up field to disrupt the pitches, pretty much have a front 7 that will man up and play.

You'll see a defense shut down this attack when LSU plays Florida. Dorsey will be in the backfield all night and Ali Highsmith will make the tackle on first contact.

Yeah you have to have horses to stop offense like that.We don't have enough of them.We must have been getting everyone's leftover's as far as recruiting goes.

Not really. UT has never been able to stop any kind of offense that didn't run straight ahead power football. More schemes and fundamentals than anything

take out one of the TE's and put brown at slot receiver, he already play backfield occasionally, even put creer back there with arian and put coker at slot. we have so many weapons, i hope fulmer sees that we can do what many teams are doing....pas to run, instead of run to pass. we have the no huddle to match that west coast style...it is almost what urban is running.....defenses began to leran the west coast, now no one runs it in the pros, but you could certainly make it happen in the college ranks, because the players are not as smart ot pick it up....i hate our zone coverage.

I guess scheme would work if they tackled. But if you don't disrupt that offense at the line. You will play h...ll ever stopping it.
