Nah, it’s more about there really aren’t 64 teams that are all that good. They will take on either Alabama or Missouri - If they lose that game and make the NCAA tourney - it is then definitely all about the name on the jersey.
If they win that game and play Texas close - they okay.

Agonizing as this cluster of a season has been, the LVs are definitely a top 30-25 ish team. Also clearly has potential for more.
Disagree. We know Kim is self-critical. Apparently they weren't late enough to warmups that anyone noticed.Respectfully, the particulars of who was late for what activity and when is completely not the point. Matters not one iota.
The point is Kim was admitting the program was spinning out of her control. Said she knew they weren’t ready but apparently she was unable to do anything about it since they went ahead to lose at home by double digits to unranked Miss St.
Whether it was SundaySchool or Church they were late for is irrelevant.
Is it expected? Sure… Is it likely to happen year in & year out like the Pat days? Absolutly not. Of course every player wants to win a championship. Most of them these days don’t want to do what it takes. if we can get the right kind of people that are also great players then we can compete with anyone. Everyone quitting on a coach in year 2 when she took a brand new team to a sweet 16 that was predicted to miss the whole d— tourney in her first year while being pregnant most of it… ? Yall will never be happy or satisfied. Call me crazy I guess but seeing a 2 yr sample size isn’t enough to fire any coach, let alone one that accomplished what she did year 1.Seriously - regarding the championship conversation. This is Tennessee! This is where Pat coached. If the players do not come here and expect to win championships - they should not be here. And if a coach does not come here expecting to win championships that coach should not be here.
Expecting and executing are two very important and different things!Seriously - regarding the championship conversation. This is Tennessee! This is where Pat coached. If the players do not come here and expect to win championships - they should not be here. And if a coach does not come here expecting to win championships that coach should not be here.
/here, take this flak jacket, grab a helmet and follow me to the bunker…Guys we aren't even done with season two. Do we hire coaches without giving them a chance to recruit their own players for their system? I see this team as two teams. One team is the upperclassman. One team is the underclassman. I am not happy at all with the results but some of the best coaches in the game struggled immensely for their first few seasons. If the standard is we must be elite in 1.5 years then you will be disappointed by any person who serves as head coach at TN. That's not happening with anyone. What do we need now? We need money and recruits more than ever to keep building top players AND we need money to keep the current team in place.
I think Kim deserves more time to build her vision and system. They are playing better and better each game even through the losses. That says something about them. They aren't folding like it's over as many of the fans have on this board. Bottom line in my little world: It's March and I am 100% behind these ladies and the coaches.
Im sorry Im lost. Not sure what your disagreeing with nor what your interpreting differently. Is it that Kim tellling that story was her indicating things were out of control? Surely you’re not disputing that the team was indeed spinning. You been watching since?Disagree. We know Kim is self-critical. Apparently they weren't late enough to warmups that anyone noticed.
That is a big difference from being unwilling to discipline a few players who are late to arrive for the first activity of the night.
Since absolutely no 'journalist" had the gumption to ask, we don't know. The jump to the wrist possible interpretation is classic confirmation bias. (And, yes, my willingness to see another possible interpretation likely stems from a more charitable belief about Kim.)
No one thought they’d miss the tournament last yr. I believe they were actually preseason top 25? As we see this year, it’s almost hard to miss the tourney if you’re just mid.Is it expected? These are her players. Including the upperclassmen. Except for Coop, Kim recruited them all.Guys we aren't even done with season two. Okay, if we are being super legalistic about this, neither of those two posts you quoted said anything about "promising a championship every year." Your honor, I rest my case.

If they all played like they were told to play, your honor, they wouldn’t have gotten their asses handed to them on a silver platter.Okay, if we are being super legalistic about this, neither of those two posts you quoted said anything about "promising a championship every year." If we can turn away from this trial of the century over semantic precision, my point is that "they knew what they signed up for," is not relevant to this discussion. If we were talking about players being in mutiny because they don't like being subbed so much or they don't the like the system's fast pace, then they "knew what they signed up for" would be a relevant retort. However, I don't think enduring the biggest blowout in LV history and multiple other embarrassing losses is "what they signed up for" nor do I think those dismal outcomes would have been part of the staff's recruiting pitch.
I mean that is fine but one can say that about every coach who fails to live up to expectations. I am sure if the players had played exactly like Jeremy Pruitt told them to play we have had great success in his run as UT football HC!! So, I assume it was a travesty of justice that he was fired when his players knew what they signed up for (and just did not do it),If they all played like they were told to play, your honor, they wouldn’t have gotten their asses handed to them on a silver platter.
Coaches. Can. Only. Say. So. Much. Players. Have. To. Execute. &. Be. Self-Disciplined.I mean that is fine but one can say that about every coach who fails to live up to expectations.
