Tony Rice Unit was pretty dang talented. Tony Rice was a monster on the guitar.

And of course, canโ€™t talk about bluegrass and not mention Doc Watson. I heard through the grapevine that despite his being a deeply religious man, he was also a huge cokehead.

Tony Rice is great, I have some really good live bootlegs.

I was fortunate to see Doc Watson perform at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in Golden Gate Park.

I came across a band and album tonight that has captivated me - Big Thief, "UFOF".

Indie/folk with a bit of an old Radiohead feel at times. The production is great, the vocals are a little mesmerizing, and there are some cool percussion and guitar loops that really drive the songs.

In case anyone is interested, Dead & Company have released a bunch of live shows on Spotify. I was never a huge fan, but I think Mayer on lead is a great addition.
