The International Effort to Beatify Caitlin Clark Thread

She also barked at Stephanie White at one point last night. LOL she sure didn't do that to Kara Lawson.
Oh yeah, that moment is getting a lot of social media attention!!!

In the post game conference, Clark was complimenting the Mystics style of play noting how the move the ball quickly, everyone is involved and there is lots of off ball moving.

Ironically, that was the style White was trying to implement before she capitulated to the pressure to let Clark hog the ball for 20 seconds of the 24 second shot clock.

Italy player was poked in the eye
different angle
guess USA team brought the WNBA officials
if the foul was called Italy would have had a chance to tie the game with free throws.
50 second video shows the foul......

by the way the video came from an Italian Team

USA was up 3.

It would have been 2 free throws because no shot taken.

So they would not have been able to tie the game.

USA got 27 Free throws
Spain 4 free throws.

I swatched the game and looked like to me USA got the better whistles .

the first half free throw was big unbalance

didn't watch the Italy game
after watching the Spain game

I bet they was a lot of missed calls in the Italy game too
I give you Italy girl didn't shoot.

Spain game in my opinion the officials
gave a better whistle to the American

I will put these reel out there for general discussion:

I've seen plenty of folks acknowledging she had a bad (for her) game. Parenthetical is mine. If you watched the game, you know that, as usual, she hit open players with passed that set then up for shots perfectly and... They missed. A lot. It was a bad shooting night for the whole team, and that cost Caitlin assists. She also continues to drive through contact, draw fouls, and was once again perfect at the line.

And Stephanie White? Did you see the lineups she put on the floor? No wonder they didn't score. The Mystics could not missed and they dominated offensive rebounds. Not exactly Caitlin's fault. And defensively she played well, especially in some key stretches when they tried to close out.

Don't know if it was White or an assistant coach she was yelling at, but did see a video that said it was about the coaches not wanting them to rotate defensively. Hard to look at the Fever's defensive results this season without thinking someone needs to be yelled at on that staff.

It's weird to be in game 42 of 44 and all of a sudden top reserves are now sitting, players that have been sitting are getting big minutes, and the team is losing important games.

As it stands, either both CC and KM play at exceptionally high levels, or the Fever lose. That's a recipe for a very short playoff performance.

there's a lot of videos attacking the Indiana fevers coaching and players selection

Per Mud, White is getting more than her share of grief on social media.

The announcers said that White felt that the combinations she had while Clark and Boston were away on their gold medal quest really played well and she wanted to give them more floor time heading into the playoffs .

No doubt an unconventional coaching decision to make a major line-up reshuffle this late in the season but I suppose one could argue that the WC break was a disruptive event

My take is that White really likes Raven Johnson and she really likes her team when she does have to manage Clark. I feel that there is real tension bubbling under the surface and it will just take a little more adversity for the Clarkano to fully erupt.

said Stephanie white tried to get Boston going. Hurt the guards production
said Boston was a role player
YouTube video maker and others blame Stephanie White.

I just watched four or five games .
Didn't watch this one.

I have never been one to automatically conclude officials favored one team over another based on a wide disparity in the final foul totals for each team.

I didn’t see this game or ANY of the FIBA games, but in college ball, pro ball and international ball, SOMETIMES — not all times — the disparity in fouls exists because one team is simply far superior at capitalizing on opponents’ weaknesses and simply draw way more fouls.

Way too many basketball fans think that foul numbers are always supposed to be fairly even else there must be some shenanigans going on, when more often than not you just have one team way more experienced or skilled or better coached than the other and the foul stats are just one of the ways it shows.

Just my opinion.

My brother watched it with me

I had already posted about the better whistle even before I sew video and learn the foul numbers.
And what the total foul numbers where.
Me and my brother where talking about plays during that USA vs Spain game.

Watch the last three quarters of Spain vs USA
Spain played better looked to me like USA got most of calls.
I agree with allot of videos USA coach staff seems want to play veterans win or lose.
My honest opinion the way USA coached and team played Spain would have won if officials called even game.

here's the post I made even before I saw the video
And knew what the total foul numbers where.

The NCAA football bowl subdivision oversight committee. Confirmed that replay official's did follow proper protocols during Michigan 13-12 win over west Michigan.
Admitting that western Michigan would have won correct procedures been used.

Official saying west Michigan player touch the ball after coming back in from out bounds stop the clock went west Michigan player touch it. Is poor excuse
bad bad officiating Or like some said higher ups wanted Michigan to win.

USA vs Spain I watch my opinion USA got better whistle I was paying attention to plays around the basketball goal
To see myself how I thought was called.

They where people saying in videos that world championship organization or whatever call . had a financial interest in the USA team making the Finals.

In the Italy game which I didn't watch they where people saying they where obvious missed calls in that game besides the last second eye contact non call last possession.

Two minute of video someone breaks down Indiana vs Los Vegas 15 to 20 calls fake calls or miss calls.
Do i think break 100% right would not say that.
But there some bad calls.

Only watch about 4 regular season games..
The rough play not as bad since the WNBA players get more money. But official calling the games balance wise isn't there
To get me watch more.
